How do I turnoff HT on my i7?

Recommended Posts

Hello all, since I got myself an i7 2600k I am now ready for a little bit of overclocking. I just bought myself an "Noctua NH-D14" and now I was wondering if someone could give me some overclocking advice. I want my pc to turn at stable 4,5 GhZ, I hope anyone can help, oh and does turning of HT make any sense when overclocking, or shall it always be on if overclocking or not? Regards

in the bios as Jim said. Most people prefer it off, cooler temperaturers and better overclocking. I would study these two guides: http://www.clunk.org.uk/forums/overclocking/39184-p67-sandy-bridge-overclocking-guide-beginners.html http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1578110

I don't know, Word Not Allowed - seems to me Jim should get at LEAST 1 hour detention after work! :) Vic
