October 12, 201114 yr System info: i7 950 cpu, 6GB Ram, ATI 5870 Graphics card, dual Samsung PX2370 monitors, 300GB Raptor, 150 GB Raptor, Windows 7 (64 bit), and using FSX Gold Edition (New install of both Windows and FSX)Windows set for dual monitors at 1920x1080, graphics card matches as well, FSX set for 1920x1080Problem: Resolution on 1st monitor fine at 1920x1080 looks perfect, second monitor resolution fine when using Windows, internet, even in FSX when just pull over main screen for example but as soon as you try to go flying the second monitorresolution is terrible and nobody can seem to fix. At one time it worked fine thought maybe Windows or FSX got corrupted so both OS and FSX were installed "clean" but second monitor resolution still terrible. We are at wits end! Help! Anyone know whats going on here? Your help/wisdom would be greatly appreciated!
October 12, 201114 yr I see no one has an answer yet. I don't use multi-monitors but have a link to the Multi-Monitor Gaming website which is also used by individuals with FSX. Perhaps they can help you with your issue - http://widescreengamingforum.com/forums/multi-monitor-gaming/multi-monitor-gaming. I'm sure you'll find experts there or perhaps an answer to your question. Best regards,Jim
October 12, 201114 yr In FSX in your Settings click Customize. GRAPHICS tab, Global settings: Custom.Under Device-specific options, Device: you should see something like ATI 5870.0 and ATI 5870.1. Make sure you have the correct "Full screen resolution": selected for each of these. On your desktop, ATI Catalyst Control Center, make sure you have both monitors set up correctly there too. October 12, 201114 yr Author Thanks, will go to the website, just don't understand whats going on here, makes no sense. SInce both Windows and FSX were installed last night PC basically is clean of programs etc. When I go to Views then New View.....Outside...Spot....Undock View... then take "boxed" view and drag to monitor 2 the image quality is terrible, yet as I said Windows, graphics card, and FSX all have correct resolutions set...Thanks superglide17 will check this again to make sure I have not missed something...driving me crazy
October 13, 201114 yr Author A great big thank you to superglide17, its fixed! May sound stupid but we never checked the drop down arrow to know that you set graphics in FSX to each card (ie 5870.0 and 5870.1). Just saw the window description 5870.0, right resolution and said yep, its correct graphics card and moved on since we had set resolution both in Windows 7 and in ATI Catalyst Control Center already. Not sure I would have "caught" this. Very happy tonight! Again THANK YOU superglide17, you made my day.
