What are you experiences with the i5 2500K

Featured Replies

It's pretty simple. If you want the very best of the best, go with the 2600K. If you want the CPU right below the best of the best, for $100 less, go with the 2500K :)
As far as fsx is concerned the two are identical

Way to ** him into a stupid purchase. If you're into gaming and FSX.. and don't do much rendering, encoding etc.. then the 2500k will be "best of the best" for you.. the 2600k only benefits those who do rendering and encoding, or use programs that benefit from hyperthreading. the 2500k and 2600k are pretty much identical, one has HT, one doesn't.

Not quite if you look at all the research, but I'd agree to most eyes they are.

I think Nick at simforums did a bit of a comparison, but cannot find the post now. Dam it.

My 2600k is great, but i only use for FSX so my HT is diabled. Had i been smart enough to think first, i would be talking about my 2500k.Doh.gif

Same here Rick. I purchased the 26K not thinking about the Ht side of things. Anyway, academic now. But it makes my sim smooth, and that's what matters.
