People probably spend $50 a month on coffee, I have no problem paying $10 a month to support the continuation and advancement of our interest. I believe it's about $10 a month for a subscription to the World of Warcraft servers. I'd prefer to see the devs (companies) see some money in the underlying application. So yes, NGX on Prepar3D would be awesome, I only need PMDG, ORBX, and HiFi and I'm done.

Totally agree. If [we] as simmers are willing to pour out hundred if not thousands of dollars to devs, why not pay a small fee to advance the continuation of our hobby? -- It almost seems illogical to me that you wouldn't support P3D.

I personally hate recurring subscriptions. The only one I have is Flying magazine and my IFR charts. If simulation goes this way, I'll just have to rely on flying the real things for my fix. I am surprised to see the support for this new product. It is exciting, but unfortunately I won't be a part of it unless it really "takes off".
FSX on steroids? From what I gather the only difference between it and FSX is the start menu! At the moment anyways.

New shaders? Re-vamped MP system. DirectX11 coming soon? Also note, I am NOT a dev for Lockheed Martin. SO, I assume dozens and dozens of other small fixes to the code are in place. --I would say that this is enough to qualify for steroids. FPS also are greatly improved. (SPECS IN SIG)

Maybe that's because it's a cleaner installation? Placebo? I'm interested to see data regarding this. Also, could you define greatly? I'm intrigued.

-With ORBX PNW Demo and A2A simulations Piper Cub. I am also running the sim at much higher settings than in FSX.

Nope. Rolling%20Eyes.gif New features include: DX11 (coming soon), Better shaders, better night lighting, better weather depiction, better performance and it still runs MS ESP.

Drop the attitude. We're well aware now that you just love PREPAR3D. Let us all get along and discuss.

You aren't really going to see any real improvement to FSX (I mean Prepar3D) until it becomes a 64 bit app. The developers at P3D have no intention (ability?) to do that.

I think P3D is an interesting option and might consider it as an end-all sim. I suppose if my IRS were aligned it would place me squarely on a fencepost.

Lets not start fighting please. We were having a great conversation...

They said that it would take some serious time to do that BUT, they said they would eventually make the migration to 64Bit.

Right, but notice his eye rolling... I'm addressing that. Besides, I'm not seeing much conversation in here besides a few new fans of a product. Now back to the question I asked you about performance in my post before last. Anyway you could answer that one? If performance is that much better, I might could see supporting the new platform. So far I haven't seen any sound reasons to support it, as I'm mostly seeing blatant and rabid fanboyism in here.

It's difficult to grasp what PREPAR3D brings to the table that begs a subscription. I also can't grasp paying $10 a month for what is essentially a stable "beta". I could see paying a one time fee of $40-$100. That's what it's worth to me.
I regard my subscription as the price to pay to show that simmers are interested in the potential it has, if you like I'm nailing my colours to the mast and saying ''yes, keep going LM''. As it stands P3D doesn't offer that much more than FSX can do for me, but FSX is not going to change, it is done, and P3D will only change to suit me if I show myself willing to support what is being done. There are other irons in the fire of course, with X-Plane and Flight, but considering how grim flight simming was looking when MS pulled the plug on FS, and the constant march of dumbed-down consoles, I'm prepared to throw that tenner at things to keep the PC sim notion alive. If that dream died, I'd be wishing I'd spent that tenner per month. Al

I am not a ######. I spent an entire week deciding if I should switch or not. I switched after I read this post. http://forum.avsim.net/topic/349132-what-is-prepar3d/page__st__75__p__2117896#entry2117896 Also, P3D seems to be MUCH more resistant to crashing compared to it's older counterpart FSX.

That's what I have been trying to say!!
