Mitch, I've been reading your enthusiastic threads re. FS euphoria for many years now, and they're always the first thread I go for if I see a new topic started by you. You have an ability to really immerse yourself in the sim and I think you affect others to do the same (I know it always works for me). Always a great read, my friend, keep 'em coming :) .Jim
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jim, I would love to read another's 'first class' FSX experience myself. You know...where, why, how, what emotion did their flight draw out? I invite you and any other Forum member to post about a particularly FSX inspiring flight that you, or they, have had! As I stated yesterday...sometimes, you hit the Jack Pot by where you decided to take off from, what the actual weather was that day,....and it all comes together for that 'great one'.....the flight that you want to post about. ;)Cheers,Mitch
The only concerns which may arise are some of a youth-protection nature in regard to the 'strong physical reaction'. laugh.pngBut seriously, enthusiasm shouldn't be limited or even condemned in our small hobby regime. So keep it coming, Mitch. happy.png
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ROTFLMBO! Only chills.....and they were the only thrills, CoolP, LOL! Oh Lord...... BTW, hop onboard, and pehaps post about one particular flight that put a huge smile on the kisser. I'm sure you can think of one. Would be most happy to read about it. :)Mitch
Mitch-always good to see you post here. You are a true flight sim enthusiast and it is always a delight to see your posts!Best,Geof
----------------------------------------------------------------------Hello Geofa! I keep thinking of your Baron...and that you 'do the real walk' to the cabin door..... I have paid a visit or three to your flight blogs. Keep 'em coming, along with the great pictures. I can also see why you would take FSX or FS9 most seriously....you know...practicing real-world procedures. It has GOT TO BE saving you a ton of dough.... :)Mitch
Mitch,I echo all your feelings about FSX. It's certainly come along way thanks to all the add-ons I've purchased.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The absolute same for myself, DJJose. Shade was the clincher...what it does...was what was missing for the 'chills and thrills'. Shade made ORBX's magic look real world. Yee Haw!
Mitch,I always enjoy reading abiut your thrill of flying in FSX! Keep your posts coming!Cheers,- jahman.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------Thanks, Jahman. Greatful to all that can put together the code that I can't write for myself!!!! But...sure do enjoy the results....lol.
No need to apologize. As mentioned before, your posts are a welcome addition to this forum. I know that I've experienced similar "wow" moments with FSX and several addons as well.
------------------------------------------------------------------------How 'bout posting about a few of those 'wow' moments for all to enjoy! :)Mitch

Mitch - there was a time when I'd read one of your posts and think - oh Jeez! Not again!! - but I really have to say that your enthusiasm comes from a real place. And that makes all the difference in the world. I find myself nodding in agreement with you and realize that I feel the same except I just enjoy it and keep it to myself. Kudos to you for reminding all of us just how much fun this hobby can be.Vic

Another fella on a forum also had the same out of body experience with FS. The trick for him though was to smoke a couple of joints, then get the snacking out the way, and then fly. To each his own, but now with my new rig, I am enjoying being able to turn up the density and enjoy the smoothness.Bob

Gotta luv San Diego!

Intel i9-12900KF, Asus Prime Z690-A MB, 64GB DDR5 6000 RAM, (3) SK hynix M.2 SSD (2TB ea.), 16TB Seagate HDD, Gigabyte GeForce 5080 RTX, Corsair iCUE H70i AIO Liquid Cooler, UHD/Blu-ray Player/Burner (still have lots of CDs, DVDs!)  Windows 10, (hold off for now on Win11),  EVGA 1300W PSU
Netgear 1Gbps modem & router, (3) 27" 1440 wrap-around displays
Full array of Bravo, Saitek and GoFlight hardware for the cockpit. Varjo and HP VR headsets for mixed reality.

I hear you on this, I get the same jaw dropping exuberance. The "Shade" add on really puts the contemporary FSX experience over-the-top (once you get Shade dialed in for the environment you're flying). Just to show off, check out my pics: http://aussiex.org/forum/index.php?/topic/9835-morning-flight-from-kpao/

Where is Tyslos Lake Lodge Airport? Thanks.
----------------------------------------------------------Hello elitehow,...Its in the ORBX PNW and/or Rockies scenery. In FSX....under Airports: type in CAG3...and that is Tyslos Park Lodge airstrip. In the airport selection list, click on the airstrip. You are then good to go!Take off from R18, as that will fly you out over the lake, and not the river. Climb out towards the end of the lake to 12,500 and then head (GPS) direct for San Diego. That will duplicate my 'thrills and chills' flight path. Enjoy some great Mexican food when step out of the plane in San Diego. Mexican Town serves up some of the best north of the border.P.S. The Quest Kodiak turboprop is an ideal plane to make the flight, as well as checking out the surrounding area of CAG3. It has the power to get you in and out of everything there. Especially the third flap position that will drop you like a stone for STOL situations! Here is the lake it is on:http://en.wikipedia....iki/Chilko_LakeHere is the real Lodge:http://www.tsylos.com/gallery-general

OK, thanks. Got it. I have all the scenery packages from Orbx and FTX. so it should be a great trip. I have been flying the British Columbia Tour flights with Buffalo Airways Virtual in the DC-3 and they are also neats scenery flights. I have Active Sky Evolution, but not REX or Shade, but I am pretty happy with what I have.Thanks.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------When you can, or if you decide to pick up both Shade or RexExtreme-Overdrive, it or they, will greatly add to the illusion of realism, much to your pleasure! For the cost of Shade...I'd say this is a huge value added for your visuals. It REALLY locks down the sense of real-world depth of field, and how sunlight actually enacts with anything it strikes. CAG3 is located in one of the most beautiful areas of British Columbia. I hope to visit Tsylos Park Lodge for real one of these days! Enjoy your flight..for from Tsylos to San Diego, it will take you within visuals, past Vancouver, Seattle, and right on down the coastline to San Diego. It was a great flight...a really great flight. After achieving 12,500 ASL, I did a direct enter of KSAN in the GPS...engaged at the far end of Chilco lake...and started heading out over the peaks. BTW, those mentioned peaks around Chilko Lake, are some of the highest elevations in British Columbia. it makes for great VFR flying. For today's flight...I'm thinking of taking a cruise over the Pyramids of Egypt...and then flying on to notes-of-interest within Israel. From there...on to see the Cedars of Lebanon. A nice change from the good old North America that I usually haunt, lol. Later tonight...will be a trip around Cape Breton Island. A very interesting area to tour in real life.Cheers,Mitch
