No backlighting on Captains FMC after SP1 install

Recommended Posts

I just did the upgrade to SP1 today. Decided to do a clean install and followed the upgrade procedure to a T. Deleted 737NGX, cleared the PMDG 737NGX root folder, reinstalled 737 from scratch, installed SP1. When I started the new set up the default is with engines running and Cap's FMC shows up just fine. When I do a reconfig for a cold and dark start up only the F/O's FMC display works. I have tried all the backlighting adjustments including panel and the lighting adjustment on the FMC itself to no avail. F/O's FMC functions totally fine and did do a short flight with it. Just fly from the left seat so would like to get this figured out.Any help is greatly appreciated!

I've experienced the same thing. What helped was to click on the FMC in the VC and then close it. After that, the FMC reappears on the captain's side. Any others having this as well?

Have had it aswell, but there is a post here that explains how to fix it,just cant remember where! But i did save it.Go to the FSXPMDGPMDG 737 NGXPanelSate folder - open each one of the NGX*.sav files in notepad or a similar plaintext editor - find the line under [CDU.0] that says "2DOpen=1" - set it to 0 and the problem will be fixed.Hope that helps.
