For those deciding what CATALYST drivers to use. ATI Catalyst 4.1 vs DNA-DRIVERS 2.0.4.1 vs OMEGA DRIVERS 2.5.14

What, a race with the same driver? That's kind of interesting. I take Omega anyday since they're tweaked for IQ and stability and not speed. Got all the speed I need anyway. I'm currrently on my third set and all,s well.

"I take Omega anyday since they're tweaked for IQ and stability and not speed. Got all the speed I need anyway."Yep. Another reason I like the Omega's is that the install is so easy. Also, I could never get friendly with the ATI Tweak package. The difference between the three driver sets is minimal at best. It's clear in the tester's closing comments that he doesn't like tweaked drivers. To each his own.Bottom line is that all three sets are very close to each other and offer options to ATI owners. Can't go wrong with any of them.

Hate to be a wet blanket, but I doubt whether any valid conclusions can be drawn from these results other than to be able to state that for those games used for benchmarking the results were so close as to make any differences in performance statistically insignificant.ATI have acknowledged publically the good work done by the author of the Omega modifications. As an Omega convert of some time I have been particularly impressed by their stability and lack of issues reported by some users of the equivalent 'raw' ATI driver sets. That's not to say the ATI driver sets are not worth using, of course not, it's just my experience with my particular system and software installations and consequently this has encouraged me to continue using them.BTW, I rate the latest Omegas (2.5.14) as being the best yet visually and performance-wise (smooth screen update) when used on my system with FS9 and FS2k2. I have not had to turn down any of my previous settings and, indeed, have moved the Anisotropic filtering setting in the driver from x8 to x16 with no obvious penalty. Following several days testing since installation I have encountered no issues whatsoever and that counts for a great deal in my book.I should say there are few more sceptical than me when it comes to hearing claims concerning newly released drivers. In the end, the only way is to try them for yourself to see whether they offer anything new that is worthwhile in terms of performance and stability.MikeP4 2.4GHz (400FSB), 1Gig PC2100 DDR Crucial, ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB (Omega 2.5.14), Hyundai ImageQuest Q17 17" Monitor (1280x1024x32), Gigabyte GA-8IRXP MoBo, Ultra-Quiet PSU 400W, WinXP Home (SP1), DirectX 9.0b, AGP Aperture = 256MB

I also use the Omegas simply because of the 9500 --> 9700 conversion.
