In real world, do spoilers and reverse thrusters activate automatically upon landing?

Recommended Posts

I seem to remember that one could program the sim to automatically activate the reverse thrusters and spoilers upon landing (cat III). Is this feature still possible or is this not real world? I landed yesterday but the reverse thrusts did not come on, nor did the air spoilers go up.Kareem

Auto Spoiler would if you Arm the Spoiler before landing and if your Engines are at idle when touching down.if those conditions are true, it would automatically deploy when you touchdown (rear wheels)To arm the Spoiler in FSX try pressing "Shift + /" key.auto thrust is done manually, to my knowledge.

Speed brakes (spoilers) are armed for landing and should go up. The thrust reversers are manual and have no auto-deploy option that I've heard of.

The thrust reversers are not automatically engaged after landing, however the spoilers are. To allow the spoilers to automatically deploy, look at the throttle quadrant in FSX. There is some writing next to the speedbrake lever that says "ARM". With your mouse, drag the speed brake lever to the level of the writing. An alternative way to arm the spoilers is by using a throttle quadrant, pressing a button on your yoke of joystick (If you have programmed it) or, from what I remember, press "shift+/". After you do that, the spoilers will deploy on landing.

Thanks,

Easy to arm spoilers, simply place your mouse cursor at the end of the handle, and left click.
