You know what's really amazing, is that it is such a simple concept, that it has taken this long for someone to come up with it. They're going to make a lot of money with this one, once it catches on. (I only wish I thought of it!!!LOL.gif)

Thanks

Boeing actually tested it and the fuel it saved in taxi was burnt up by carrying that extra weight around.

What's your source? The only test I found that Boeing (Boeing Phantom works) participated in didn't say anything of the kind. The extra weight is said to be no more then 1 or 2 passengers (300 pounds), which is also offset by the extra taxi fuel, that would no longer be needed.http://www.boeing.com/news/releases/2005/q3/nr_050801a.html

My dad was the lead engineer on the 737 about 5 years ago when they worked on the project.

Well it can't be that bad if an airline like EL-AL is committing to it.

They are just doing feasibility checks now. We'll see if they find the same findings as Boeing.

I'm glad to see that the real world has finally caught up with Flight Sim. I've been backing up my planes for years without a tug. I just push CTRL+P!
