I've just found the most realistic 747 GE soundpack ever! Right here on youtube, the guy post the filename for AVSIM, looking for it now. Here's the video:

The TSS ones are much better than this, there is a large component of the sound from this video that sounds a little like the default planes

Then I highly recommend you watch some 747GE videos. The internal sound (spool up and roar), are extremely realistc. I've been on a KLM 747 many times (in the front), and it sounds exactly like it. To be honest I only care about the internal sound, external is not that important to me.

What is the continuous looping sound that sounds like it is playing in the background, starting around when he begins taxiing? Also, it the "roar" on take-off seems to be practically non-existent.What do you not like about the TSS CF6? Do you feel it is worth buying? I'm also contemplating this at the same time.Greg

True, but that's exterior sound, and I'm flying the plane from the inside, internally. And the internal sound is great, especially the roar and spool up.What I don't like about the TSS CF6-80C2 is basicly the roar and spool up. There are just not as realistic as this one. (From the inside)

Why you need a new sound pack? PMDG has the best 747 and it's sound is recorded from the real 744, as Sir Ryan already said.Only thing which I feel, is worth doing is the remake of the virtual cockpit to meet the 737 NGX standards, and I guess Sir Ryan already mentioned it.

OK. Might as well give them a shot since they are free. These sounds were designed for a 767 though, so I'm somewhat skeptical. I already have the Synchro-Soft 767 CF6-8C2 sounds but they don't sound very accurate on a 747.
