Recommended Posts

Hi !!I've got 2 questions about pmdg 737 800 ngx.1. how to do a manual procedure turn in a boeing 737 800? I cant find any instrument in a cockpit which helps me to do it. what do I need to look at?2. I don't know how to plan my fuel. what planner do you use? any advice will be helpful

I mean something like this: http://www.ead.eurocontrol.int/eadbasic/pamslight-F3CF78CAC8ECB957D2C84EB7EC1A9C3C/7FE5QZZF3FXUS/EN/Charts/AD/AIRAC/EG_AD_2_EGKK_7-7_en_2011-06-30.pdfI don't know how to do last procedure turn to be exactly at localizer course. I want to do it manually and I dont know how tight the turn must be, also dont know what to look at, what instruments in cockpit help me in doing procedure turn. I heard something that position trend vector could be useful but I don't know if it is correct procedure to use it.sorry for my english, I am Polishthe second problem is I don't know how to plan fuel for a flight

You mean a coordinated turn?1. The b737 gives rudder input automatically. As long as the white thick line underneath the upper pointer of the PFD is centered with that pointer, your turn is coordinated.2. Curious too. Maybe this one?http://www.topcatsim.com/Bert Van Bulck

Nomally, all procedure turns in charts are rate-1 turns. This means youy have to turn the plane 3 degrees per second. A 180 degree turn takes exactly 1 minute.Which bank angle to use? 15% of TAS.So if TAS is 180, Dive it by 10 and add half of the result. 18+9 =27 Bert Van Bulckhttp://www.b737mrg.net/downloads/b737mrg_thumbrules.pdf

is it any instrument in boeing 737 800 which helps me to do a procedure turn? I know this solution which tells me to divide speed by 10 and add half but is it any other solution?. The point in this conversation is I want to be the most exact on the final, on the localizer course so the solution with ndb is the best. in relation to your solution it depends on speed which I fly and there is another problem with radius of the turn so your solution takes plane not on the localiser course because like said before it depends on speed and on radius of the turn
I got that chart from a program called SimPlatesXhttp://www.dauntless...ucts/simplates/Also :http://lmgtfy.com/?q=EGKK+charts
your solution is the best I think but I don't understand why this ndb isn't on my chart taken from uk aip, so why?

From the chart "... turn right to intercept the ILS localiser and continue ILS approach as detailed on Instrument Approach Chart."Just tune I-GG 110.9 in your nav radios, and intercept it.

Im not too sure why its not on your chart..on your chart they have given you a FAF/FAP of 8.6nm from the localizer. That would be the end of the arrival procedure ( i think?) then you pull this chart up :egkk2.jpgIf we take the NDB away totally, another way to line up would be to tune both nav1 and nav2 to the ILS (110.9)..set the course for nav1 and also have nav2 showing its pionter on the compass. When the nav2 needle is pointing to about 70°, make your turn to line up.You should then see the localizer come to life.

Either way,Ya there's no turn coordinator to show you if you're precisely on a rate one turn. The TAS method of determining your bank is one way, the other way is get that stop watch out and manually time your turns.

But for that to work, you have to know WHEN to START the turn. So how do you know that?

From the chart, you would start your turn 5 miles from MID VOR, and your NDB would be pionting at 055° (or 052°, depending on whitch radial your on to MID VOR )

Turn right to intercept the LLZ at MAY D23 or at MID D5.Bert Van Bulck
