I gave up chasing down the culprit. Uninstalled, reformatted and reinstalled FSX on my dedicated drive. Often times its just plain easier than looking for phantom errors or a corrupt dll. Been flying for 5 days now with no errors. I'm slowly injecting addons. I still havn,t installed UT2 but have been using GEX. I'm suspecting, with no basis of proof, a TCAS.dll was causing my errors and causing conflicts. Was missing from an addon aircraft I reinstalled and instantly recieved the g3d.dll, nt.dll and ATC.dll errors. Uninstalled the aircraft and its gone. Again, purely coincidence?
Perhaps this link will help regarding the tcas.dll crash: http://support.precisionmanuals.com/KB/a35/troubleshooting-ctds-crash-to-desktop.aspx.Best regards,Jim

Relevant lines for PeteD bolded.

That was my next guess, but the crash dump infelizmente does indicate G3D.dll instead of TCAS.dll as the culprit.Cheers,- jahman.

I saw that too but he mentioned the TCAS.dll so I thought I would help him on that one. Appears he has everything fixed now. Best regards,Jim

This is a different crash to those the majority of folks were getting, and isn't fixed by any patch from FSUIPC. I've had a look and i'm afraid it isn't in any sort of place I could very easily effect an escape from. It's looks like it is right in the middle of building quite complex tables from input files -- actually it is very suggestive of a corrupt file being processed.Sorry, but I don't think I can really help with this one. You might be able to identify the culprit file by using ProcMon, and/or a process of elimination.RegardsPete

And for those of you who are thinking of buying a licensed copy of FSUIPC but don't think you will use it much, that's what I thought. But I have found FSUIPC does SO MUCH more than I realized, I now consider it to be a necessary component of FSX.
Very true... The axis assigment and wind smoothing are killer features that are vital to a smooth and realistic flight experience. Thanks to Pete for his contributions

Why should I...? It doesn't offer anything I need, so... After all these years I still don't know why this is regarded as a must have for so many people. I guess it all depends on how you fly and what hardware you have...? ;) This fix would have been a reason to buy FSUIPC after all, but since I don't have appcrashes anyway, I still see no need to buy it.
/ / / / ........this guy has such a BAD attitude (whether on this topic, X-Plane, or AeroflyFS, or the other topics that I've had the misfortune to bump into him on. Always an expectant, harsh, abrupt, ego-centric attitude to everything. ...and it's not just about 'not digging' FSUIPC either, it's about the fact that this topic is about such a huge breakthrough and positive development for so many people, done by a guy (Pete) who will do anything he can to improve the hobby, not just for paying customers ............. and yet this guy above just has to get his negative vibe in.I really feel sorry for this guy, as it clearly can't be much fun living with that outlook.........I may be completely wrong here (and if I am fine, you can laugh at me), but is this guy an AVSIM Reviewer? (or maybe he used to be?) .......... if so, what a role model huh? if not, my bad. Edited by Stick

Stick,That reads like a personal insult and attack that goes against the ToS of AVSIM. Besides, J van E has been a positive and helpful influence here for a lot longer than many, while exercising his right within the ToS to express his opinion, even when wrong. Not going after someone personally when disagreeing with their opinions is a better idea than ripping them apart.Kind regards,

On another topic, what is the point of a post voting system if you can only vote up, are mods and admins the only people who are allow to vote a post down? Whenever I try to vote a post down I get a message saying that I have used my negative quota for the day, pretty pointless system if this is not an error.

Cheers, Andy.

Whoa! If OrbX is the suspected cause of the crash has anybody asked them what they think of the solution to the problem? I've been a long time supporter of Pete but after I loaded my FSUICP to fix the OrbX (?) AppCrash, I had a PMDG 737 spin out of control on me for no reason on the next flight!

Shouldn't ORBX fix the problem if they're causing it? I've got money invested in both of those developers but it seems like this could develop into a great Ponzi scheme. Does MS even comment anymore?

Ken, it's not only ORBX causing it.

We actually don't really know why is it happening. Only that it does and there is a workaround for it.

I asked them what they think of the fix and I got banned :)

It's not just ORBX scenery but the majority of this crashes was happening with their scenery just because it's one of the most demanding on the system. The real cause still remains a mystery but we can be very happy that Pete made this fix.

You don't purchase a version. You purchase an FSUIPC in general. You should always use the latest version, available either over his website or his forum.
