High altitude landing switch

Recommended Posts

Greetings all,I've noticed an item on the checklist/flow that I use that refers to a "high altitude landing switch". Aside from the obvious answer, what exactly is its purpose, and is it modeled on any of the PMDG 737s? Many thanks.

My best guess is, it is used when landing on airfields higher than usual maximum cabin altitude, do there flows by any chance come from South American operators?

Peter,I'm using Michael Swannick's flow chart. It's not specific to any particular airline or area.

The High Altitude Landing System is, I repeat, IS a customer option. It's for aircraft operating at airports in excess of 14,500ft elevation. The cabin altitude warning system is disabled and there's extra emergency passenger oxygen, among a few other small things.

Thanks guys,I guess this is one of the rare items that PMDG didn't simulate. I least I won't have to go crazy looking for a switch that doesnt "virtually" exist.
