December 8, 201114 yr All,I recently decided to move into a more complex aircraft. Well, a very complex aircraft to be correct. I just bought the pmdg 737NGX. I loaded it up and moved around a bit quite quickly as I wanted to view a video offered up by "Angle of attack" website before getting too involved. This video takes you through the flight deck for a rough systems overview, but also showcases the incredible detailing done by these talented individuals at PMDG. I was absolutely blown away by this video. I just could not believe what I was seeing. I had no idea that this level of detail could ever be done. I am sure many of you here may have seen this, but for those who have not, please check it out. It is about an hour long but trust me it will go by fast. I was glued to this. Here is the link: flyaoamedia.com/aoa/nicks-737ngx-cockpit-thoughts/Now, I did sign up for their upcoming NGX series of training, so I am not sure if I was able to get to this because I am a member. If you cannot, I certainly apologize. Please let me know.RegardsBob Officially retired
December 8, 201114 yr Commercial Member Bob I had the same reaction when I first watched this video of the 737NGX :)It must have been a staggering amount of work. The attention to detail is relentless. And even that's a colossal understatment...lol.Thanks for posting; I watched it again ;)DannyYes that video is public, no membership req'dhttp://www.flyaoamed...ckpit-thoughts/
December 8, 201114 yr Author Danny,Man O Man, you are so right. I sit in the cockpit and just look at it. Don't know how to fly it yet LOL but it sure has gotten my attention. I think it is going to be a long road to learn about this incredible aircraft and feel comfortable with it.Gives me something to do though. I was getting a little bored with the FlightSim and started looking around to see what I could do to spark the interest again. I found it.I am glad it is public and hope others who have not yet experienced this take the time to watch it.Bob Officially retired
December 8, 201114 yr The bar is set high now, I can't even imagine what they're going to do with their 777, lol. Jacek G. Ryzen 5800X3D | Asus RTX4090 OC | 64gb DDR4 3600 | Asus ROG Strix X570E | HX1000w | Fractal Design Torrent RGB | AOC AGON 49' Curved QHD |
December 8, 201114 yr Author The gentleman that presented this video, Is he a real commercial pilot? He sure knows this plane inside and out.The attention to detail is mind boggling. The good thing for me is I have a good system, and with that I can enjoy a smooth display.Bob Officially retired
December 8, 201114 yr You guys should see it with Nvidia 3dVision , you'll want to reach out and turn the dials.
December 8, 201114 yr The AoA videos are really well done. I've been watching each of the NGX training lessons as they're posted, and the level of detail they go into is astounding. They're so good, the only thing that would be better is to see new ones much more often. Still, for what we're getting, I think the subscribers are definitely making out like bandits. And of course, the plane itself is a masterpiece.
December 8, 201114 yr They take too long to release their videos, otherwise I would buy it Jose De Campos London
December 8, 201114 yr Moderator I think it is going to be a long road to learn about this incredible aircraft and feel comfortable with it.Dont worry, its actually a really easy airplane to learn, especially if you have prior experience with the LDS 767 or PMDG 747, its also a pleasure to hand fly. Once you do the tutorial flight a time or two you'll be on your way in no time. Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
December 9, 201114 yr They take too long to release their videos, otherwise I would buy it+1...I was extremely interested post NGX release, but I'm also frustrated at this point...almost pulled the trigger a few times on the Captain's pack , but I need some motivation from this company to keep my interest....c'mon AoA throw me another bone !!Greg

December 9, 201114 yr The only thing i will say is PMDG needs to be more reasonable and produce PDF manuals that you can easily navigate rathe than 2000 pages of stuff you have to scroll through.LOL, they give you the real Boeing 737 manuals and you complain. It's actually quite incredible that the NGX is so realistic that the Boeing manuals can be utilized and applied to a $70 consumer product. It's not 2000 pages in one volume, there's the FCOM 1 and 2, QRH, and FCTM. That right there breaks it down, and eliminates many pages when you know what you are looking for. Also, the "find" function in Adobe Reader makes it much easier to find things. Shane Gavin
