I believe the F1 g1000 is *not* the most faithful simulation of the real thing in the fs world. The mindstar G1000 is.For anyone interested.Do not take my word for it and do not take lord Jim's for it. What you can do is this:Find out what the F1 g1000 does not simulate.Find out what the f1 g1000 simulates and how.( is that button a dummy ? is that menu working ?) Once you have done that , contact mindstar and ask them what their software simulates and what it does not simulate. Compare and then see for yourself.Mind you if/when you do the comparing you will maybe/probably find that F1 offers neat things that the counterpart does not.Maybe another bug splat ? But this time on the very garmin itself? The bug somehow got into the cockpit, hit the copilot's seat, bounced and hit the thing.God bless the bug. Seriously if you do the comparing..do not just vist the mindstar's site and look up the features of the latest official release listed there because their software is basically always in beta (they update it constantly).If you try to download the official setup from their site now you will get the 1.0.28 version.But the latest beta with all the features added is version 2.058beta.Quite a jump. It's more or less like fsuipc.You go to the official site you download one version but if you visit their forums you will get another.You know what I mean.Now, as to the perennial debate (customer vs vendor/dev) I rather not get into it too much even if I will say that I know that us customers can be unreasonable at times. Beak, the comparison you attempt to draw between G1000 Vendors Products is clumsy at best.Your need to actually understand an FS G1000 feature set and capabilities is obvious but does reveal a serious lack of understanding.Please spare us the comparison until you've done a bit more homework.

We doubt any lost customers or revenue from any with the exception of those who already had an agenda and/or have stolen products then had the audacity to hammer the dev and/or the devs product. There is much to say about the putrid underbelly of many so called "customers" in this "community" of ours.Devs would easily "keep their stuff in the back room" but you and others seem to think the same doesn't apply to the those who post as bad or worse from the "simmers viewpoint."The "community" has been steadily devouring itself and its developers since FSX RTM and a casual observer can easily see why it is no longer growing.This action will likely have a ripple effect among commercial devs which we doubt will be a positive.

There wasn't anything out of line in post #27, just a developer explaining about backing his product as it should be. I've had my moments I didn't agree with Jim, but he makes great products and does his best to stand behind them, despite what some idiotic and misinformed customers post.

You go on and keep thinking that, but you are incorrect. I work in retail management and get really sick and tired of this mantra being thrown down when a customer has unreasonable expectations and wants to "get their way". It's sad that you have some retailers that go way out of their way to accommodate the ill-deserved, ill-behaved customers and this catering somehow entitles them to think they can act this way all the time with everyone and it's ok.

The customer is not always right. Some people are just a-holes and need to be somebody elses customer. A career in the automotive service buisness has taught me there is a small percentage of people that will lie, cheat and do whatever they can to try and get something for nothing. Sure the flight sim add-on buisness is a lot different but you still have a-holes that are pig headed rude and will not admit whent he problem is possibly on their end..The most expensive add-on I have is the NGX I have about a hundred into that plane, it's really kind of chump change considering how many hours of fun I have had with it and how much I have learned from using it.
