December 17, 201114 yr I think a major part of the enjoyment for the VC users is lost due to the slow MCP reaction. It doesn't affect me that much as I use some hardware, but I can feel your pain. I felt it as the iFly arrived and until they eventually fixed it.And don't forget the biggest downside. The sound! Wilco, include some decent set and people will love you.The VC engine start and stop problems don't come up here. I load the plane, press the FSX commands for max mixture and max rpm (a habit of mine, on every plane) and then operate from the VC. It works, at starting and stopping with no 2D involved.Grd power comes up here. Parking brake set, click on the clickspot, wait a minute and the light comes on.VC gets better the longer I fly her. I like the options on the gauge refresh rate. I need a fluid PFD and don't care much if the FO has one. But, you are correct, there's way better stuff out there. Some items need attention as they are hard to read. The RMI and the VOR/ADF setting is one example. TrackIR helps (lean forward), but a standard user will fail, even when using the 2D popup.I do all the pedestal things on the popup as I'm too lame to move my head every time. So I again feel your pain, but have worked around.I've a 36 item list here with things that need a closer look. Such as missing VC clickspots, strange knob reactions or some graphical mishaps. So don't expect me to call 1.0 of V2 an overwhelming success, but I think that all of those things are able to be fixed with not too much work. Still, Wilco has to prove that they can do this, so that's the part I'm looking at. So, for Mas and the rest of us, lets hope they do well on this one.Must say, I'm obviously a fan of that half glass, half steam gauge style, so I'm biased and still happy, except for the price point.
December 17, 201114 yr BTW, here's my channel on youtube, I'm going to made a vid of the EVO very soon.. I do some wacky characters.. :) http://www.youtube.com/user/fontaine32?feature=mhee Tony Fontaine
December 17, 201114 yr MAS.. I don't have those issues except for the slow mcp knobs, and setting decision height, but I just go to first officer seat for that.. Yes, the FL and LND ALT needs to be brightened to see it.. As far as the engines, having no issues starting or shutting down from VC.. If you have 64 bit, you need to take ownership of the FSX folder then install or you'll have issues.. There are some very talented people out there, I hope someone can work on the VC textures... If this helps, in the real classics, the autopilot needs a little help sometimes and even the auto throttle.. When intercepting the LOC, is works much better if you have a less than 45 degree intercept or she'll turn too late.. LNAV needs work, the aircraft seems to overshoot waypoints that are close together on Departure and Approach, I hand fly em anyway..Hi Billy Bob - I already did that as per instructions in the manual, but it's a minor issue. Thx for the help anyways though ;)I think a major part of the enjoyment for the VC users is lost due to the slow MCP reaction. So in the name of the christmas spirits, I'll believe that they actually do that ;) I think we'll all end up liking the evo as much as I know I liked v1..Mas Martin Jensen
December 17, 201114 yr You know the most upsetting thing I think is that the things you mention Mas, and the other faults we've all covered (so far) seem like relatively trivial things to have fixed, and are SO OBVIOUS that there clearly wasnt any substantial quality control going on for this release. A real shame really.I still think however that for a Classic 737 fan if you don't already have a working Wilco then the Evo is worth a look. For the rest of us maybe we just have to hope for an Evo of the Evo to sort out the bugsTotally on spot with the obvious things - which is why I'm led to believe that Wilco released this "just" in time for Christmas. I mean - no way they "overlooked" these bugs by accident..On your second note - you're right again. It's the only good classic out there, and with a few bug fixes (visual, yoke/armrest, knobs) it could be a very enjoyable plane for me to fly indeed...Mas Martin Jensen
December 18, 201114 yr Reasonable texts, guys. And agreed on the Christmas factor. I've just read that Bryan York from Fs2Crew will do an Upgrade for the Evo. No fixed time plans, except for the fact that the NGX version comes first. http://forum.avsim.n...ost__p__2194181
December 18, 201114 yr Purchased and dowloaded the aircraft as I am a big fan of the 737 Classic. Agreed it is not the PMDG B739, but still a great aircraft. My question is... where is the paint kit for this aircraft? Can't find it anywhere. VATSIM: P2 | I1
December 18, 201114 yr It is weird how they stuck with the classic, they never mad an NG! Ben B. I5 at 2.9 ghz, 8gb of RAM, and GTX 560 Overclocked 1gb

December 19, 201114 yr My question is... where is the paint kit for this aircraft? Can't find it anywhere.Hey CXA, no sign of one yet, do let us know if you hear of one though. Dean Stringer
December 19, 201114 yr It is weird how they stuck with the classic, they never mad an NG!Isn't this the best part about it, that it is a Classic 737, no NG. We already have two NGs at a nice state. Lets wait for CS to come up with the -100/-200 and we are in heaven on the 737 lineup. :(
December 19, 201114 yr Ho Lets wait for CS to come up with the -100/-200 and we are in heaven on the 737 lineup. :(Yep, cannot wait for this one :) Regards,Stan
December 19, 201114 yr Here is what I got from Wilco.....Just not sure what soon means :( It will be soon available from the product page.Best Regards,Tiffany EngelWilco Publishing Bruce Wood
December 20, 201114 yr Hi all,Found another bug not yet reported (I think). On the RMI, the VOR/ADF 1&2 are reversed. When ADF is selected the needle points in fact to the VOR and when VOR is selected the needle points to the NDB station. this for the NAV 1 & 2 needles.Texture bugs:On the pop-up EFIS panel the button NAV AID is spelled incorrectly NAF AIDWhen looking to the right wing, the NO STEP sign on the ground spoilers is reversed (mirror effect).A question now: regarding pressurization, the landing elevation is not set automatically despite selecting an arrival airport in FMC, Cruise altitude is not synchronized with FMC CRZ ALT and optimum cabin altitude is not computed is this normal ? Are all those features NG stuff? I can't recall if it was like that in RL 737 classics.thanks for your feedbackAmedee
December 20, 201114 yr A question now: regarding pressurization, the landing elevation is not set automatically despite selecting an arrival airport in FMC, Cruise altitude is not synchronized with FMC CRZ ALT and optimum cabin altitude is not computed is this normal ?yes ... all normal ... welcome to 1984 technology.on the 'bottom' edge of the cabin pressurization overhead sub-panel is a chart so you can set the correct cruise altitude cabin elevation. arrival airport requires you to look at the airport chart to set correct altitude.-- D.
