Procedures for Queenstown, NZ

Recommended Posts

With the recent release of Orbx's NZ South Island scenery, does anyone know where I can download the procedures in PMDG FMC data format so I can fly the instrument procedures into NZQN? I flew the NGX in there but there were no approaches or SID/STAR data for the airport. Alternatively, I was wondering if anyone has access to the Jepp charts with the RNP procedures into NZQN. I would be willing to make the instrument procedures for the NGX if anyone can provide the Jepp charts as reference. Thanks for any help with this.Well, found some NOS looking charts, so half the question is answered.http://www.aip.net.nz/NavWalk.aspx?section=CHARTS

The problem is that the RNAV procedures into NZQN contain custom waypoints that are not replicated in the navdata from Navigraph (QN654 etc)I dug around the VATNZ website a while back and found that someone had created some waypoints that were said to work with the FS9 version, but I haven't yet seen any for the NGX.Does anyone know how to ascertain the exact co-ordinates for each of the custom waypoints?

OK, found this link, not sure if it is the same one you are talking about, but it has some procedures for PMDG. I was under the impression that the FS9 version and NGX share the same SID/STARS procedures. I will try them out and report back when I get a chance to fly. Here is the link if anyone is interested.http://www.vatnz.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=2087

OK, scratch that link, the procedures for NZQN did not work. There is a FIX error when you select NZQN as DEP or ARR airport in the FMC. I'm sure it can be fixed by correcting the FIX.Anyway, if anyone has JEPPs with the RNP procedures I would be willing to code them. The NOS ones do not show the fix names or position, so no way to code the waypoints. Thanks

Yep. That's it. I got the same fix error. It occurs to me that the fix co-ordinates contained in the file should be correct, so maybe if those fixes were added to the navdata, it could be possible to at least manually program the approach and contraints. I'm going to give it a try tomorrow morning.I've flown into Queenstown a few times (and been diverted a few times, too), so I'm really keen to get this working.

Guys, the RNP procedures into NZQN are proprietary and the co-ordinate data is thus unavailable publically.

Wayne,Navigraph's nDAC service (http://www.navigraph.com/www/ndac.asp) provides enroute charts for many parts of the world, including trans-Tasman. It's not a free service but IMHO the cost is reasonable and well worth it - I've been using them for a number of years now. Hope this helps.
