Great video, I love the sound of Merlins in the Morning!!! (Was that you flying in her?, A real rare treat!!)
No that wasn't me :-( Though I did get a go in the Battle of Britain Lanc many many years ago on "Practice Day" at the Biggin Hill Air show :-))The noise and vibration I remember were intense to say the least. How those pilots coped in the war was amazing.vololiberista

Wasn't this the type of aircraft Doolittle flew off the carriers in the first bombing of Japan back in 1942? I was a bit surprised at the length the takeoff took...

No. His little raid used B-25s. B-25s with barely enough fuel to get to the Chinese mainland, minimum crew, no guns, no passengers, etc., etc!
