December 21, 201114 yr Some really good ideas offered so far. Thanks for sharing, guys! Alexander Alonso
December 21, 201114 yr Here is my GE pic. This uses the .kml I found online so it dislyays ICAO codes. Note: all of the airports are not payware I will list a freeware airport or an enhanced AFCAD if that is all that is available. I know which ones are payware or have AES support and which ones don't. December 21, 201114 yr I have a constantly updated map where I mark all cities with my installed addon airports. The map is also useful when I am looking for ideas to make another flight. Hey RafalPlease can you tell me details for some of your airports. Ie Are they good to look at , are they good performance and where do you buy them?SpecifcallyBarcelonaNaplesWarsawIn terms of performance I think anything as good as Nice or Athens etc is good. I posted a picture of all my airports 4 posts up in Google Earth and I need to fill some of the spaces!!Thanks Keithy George
December 21, 201114 yr Hi, Keithy! BarcelonaNaplesWarsaw1. Barcelona LEBL is the Aerosoft/Sim-Wings payware product you can get here:http://en.shop.aeros...anguage=english2. Naples LIRN is na excellent freeware addon called Napulevola. You can find it in the AVSIM library.3. Warsaw EPWA is a nice freeware product by Mateusz Stabryla, also available in the AVSIM library, or here:http://www.mk-studio...pl/scenery.htmlI buy my sceneries from various developers/vendors, usually at Aerosoft, SimMarket, UK200 and FSDT.Some I don't have to buy as I beta test them or participate in another way.Seven of the addons visible on the map are freeware (LIRF, LIMC, LIRN, EFHK, EPWA, LGSK and LGKR).The map does not represent the very current state of my addons. After buying a new PC a month ago, I installed only some.Of course they look great. I am very demanding as for visual quality. So I do not use addons unless they look at least very good in my eyes. :wink:Note: I am mostly an FS9 flyer. Many of these products, though, are available also for FSX (often free if you have the FS9 version).Hope that helps!
December 21, 201114 yr Hi RafalHave you tried the freeware Debrecen from http://www.lhsimulations.hu/ ? A great little scenery, ideal for short hops in central Europe. Gavin Barbara Over 10 years here and AVSIM is still my favourite FS site :-)
December 21, 201114 yr Have you tried the freeware DebrecenTo be honest I've had all their great-looking sceneries for a long time with an intention to use them. But I haven't yet had a day for virtual flying to Hungary except for Budapest Ferihegy.
December 22, 201114 yr I have a constantly updated map where I mark all cities with my installed addon airports. The map is also useful when I am looking for ideas to make another flight. What add on do you use for Moscow? could you possibly post som screenshots, please? Florian
December 22, 201114 yr What add on do you use for Moscow? could you possibly post som screenshots, please?I use a great payware scenery for Moscow Domodedovo (UUDD) by IGLfly / DancerDesign, which unfortunately is not sold anymore (unless there is a vendor I am not aware of).http://www.igfly.com/I have some sceeries in my library but I would have to look for them. Maybe later today if I find some time.Anyway, it is a very nice scenery, supported by AES. However, I don't think it will work for FSX!
December 22, 201114 yr FWIW, I use the option is Flightsim Flight Keeper's (FSFK) map display to show only add-on airports. If enabled, it shows only airport installed outside the default scenery directory. It works well for what I need it for. Regards, Al Jordan | KCAE
December 22, 201114 yr Al,Where is that display option in FSFK?Bring up the FSFK World map or Flight-following map - On the map menu > click the little down arrow to the right of the "Advance Map Options" Icon > near the bottom of the drop-down menu, in the "Filter Options" section > check "Show only Addon Airports" Don't forget to keep your FSFK database up to date, after adding scenery or AFCADs, to keep this display updated. May 28, 201313 yr Hello everyone, although this topic is a bit old I dug it up because it helped me a lot in making this small program: I developed a small freeware application that allows you to list your favorite airports and export the data into the Google Earth format "kml". There is no need to manually add placemarks in Google Earth, with the help of Sam High's FSX DB it's all automatic. The additional airport data from fsxdb.com like VORs, ILs, COM etc. can be displayed with a single click. This application uses the Microsoft FSX database as provided by Sam High on fsxdb.com. However, it can be used with any flight simulator.Watch this video for a quick tutorial: Download from avsim.com Download from flightsim.com Switchboard - Track Your Simulator Add-ons - Throttle Quadrant
May 28, 201313 yr Cute small program! Just tried it and it works very simple. May I add two small suggestions: Is it possible to get Google Earth airport symbols instead of pins automatically? Another improvement could be to assign colors according to different airport size (RW lenghts)- that's how I've been using GE for airport tracking. Thanks for the program Harry - Harry 9800x3D (Strix x870e-E) - 64GB RAM (DDR5 6000, CL 30) - RTX 5090, 34'' 1440p OLED HDR - Windows 11 Pro (1TB M.2) - MSFS 2024 (MS Store, 4TB M.2).
