Black Box Simulations'first product: 737 Professional

Recommended Posts

http://www.justflight.com/developProduct.asp?pid=865Seems like Black Box Simulations, what ocne was PSS, is really coming back to us, and it's with a Boeing 737. The original one, to be precise, the same as Captain Sim is currently doing. I'm really wondering how this will end and if PSS will do more of the 737 series. In all honesty, I was hoping they would get their 777 to FSX first, but well, we'll see what comes to us in the future. Good to see them back!

The VC images look rather bland. Lets hope they can fix this before launch.Aaron G.

Nice HU. I thought they went for FS9 titles only. But I can read FSX now, which is great.Wanna hear a dream of mine? Render some PSS Airbus to arrive in FSX as native model. As you've said, CS is doing the 737 too, so that Airbus gap gets even more obvious. I don't need top notch optics or so, just some Airbus character and the systems involved. A330? To die for! :(

Good news. Not tempted by the Captain Sim version due to it being built by Captain Sim. If the Black Box version is as good as their previous software under the PSS name then I will likely buy it if it's sensibly priced. Let's hope it's beta-tested properly so we don't end up with endless updates. Will be great to fly a "real mans aeroplane" for a change rather than the push-button toys currently available.

Sounds interesting. After all trouble ive had with most Captain Sim products I would happily get any good alternative.

777 would make more sense given the fs9 777 was pretty good (vc good, external model bad). every tom, dick, and harry is putting out a 73x these days.

If they are going to make an 'old' 737 then I would suggest they also make it LOOK old. From the pics it looks like it was just rolled off the Boeing line for it's shakedown flight.

Yes I noticed that. A more "photoreal" VC would add to the realism. I complained a bit when RealAir brought out the Duke with a "cartoonishly" clean cockpit. They then offered a slightly more weathered option in the config file which IMO makes the interior look alot more realistic.I was at school when the 737-200 was being produced. I'd like the Black Box version to reflect the age and condition of the aircraft as it would be after 10-20 years of hard use.PS: I know "cartoonishly" isn't a real word...but it's the only way I can describe it:p

Captian Sim does a lot better with the visuals than that. If they can put out a good solid release with minimal issues or at least fix them quickly I'll be happy. I do like their models, they just need to focus on quality control a bit more; too many fix packs.

Yup it's not up to the previous PSS standards and that was years ago. Come on guys give us a weathered photoreal VC that looks just like the real thing. That VC looks a bit freeware sorry. Exterior model looks quite nice. Any chance of some more "shine" though? The World Air Routes DVD on Alaska Airlines is great for 737-200 exterior and interior eye-candy. It's a pity they don't use the 200 anymore. Looks like a wonderful aeroplane to fly.

If the liveries supplied are realistic to the period in which it was flown, then surely the inside would look pristine ? Having said that, the VC doesn't look too great...

Another 737?!
Ever been in a 737-200? Ever been in a 737NGX?Both are totally different aeroplanes to look at and fly. They share nothing in common apart from they were both built by Boeing.737-200 is a proper pilot's aircraft ie one you have to fly using your brain and body.737 NGX is one flown by computer. You are just there for the ride.As a Pilot I know which one I'd rather be in.
