Programming winds aloft: Limited entries?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,I was programming winds aloft at waypoints, via the legs >> route data page,I could only program a certain amount, and then I wasn't able to input any more?Is there a limit to the number of entries, or by distance?Alex

Not be completely sure but I think :Winds aloft at waypoints, via the legs >> route data page entered during CRUISE phase.During DESCENT phase, winds must be entered in DESC FORECASTS pageRegards,Richard Portier

AlexI have the most cruise entries on KJFK-KLAX and PANC-KLAX and they number about 20 + 1 on the INIT Page for climb and three on the DESCENT FORECAST for FL300, 18000 and 12000 or 6000. I don't know if there is a upper limit to the number of entries. When the NGX was released in August there was a thread concerning freezing of the FMC after about 16-17 wind entries. You will need to search for it if it applies. I have no link.Michjael Cubine

Interesting, today I entered Winds Aloft on the Leg's page for the first time after reading this post.I found I couldn't enter any Winds Aloft for waypoints where the aircraft was still climbing, only waypoints for the cruise stage and descent. Is this what you mean?
