You never know, but someone out there might be struggling with exactly the same problem that you encountered and would find your solution to be of some use. Hi Denis,Sorry, I should remember to pass through here more often :-roll. I followed your problems with the ATI Radeon, and I can appreciate your frustration with posts like mine. The problem was actually a network based problem that was created through my own incompetence. I had lost my connection to the internet, which turned out to be a problem at the ISP end. But at first, they claimed everything was fine. We went through an endless stream of tests, and ended up uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers for my network card. After all of this, I couldn't make a connection even after the ISP was back up and running. In the end, the solution was to delete all of the network connections (NIC, 1394, and bridge) and then create a new LAN connection.I didn't post the full details because the problem had seemed so complex, and the solution so relatively simple, that it didn't seem worthwhile at the time. I'm still not sure how much this will help others, since they are unlikely to encounter the same problem. But I do pass through here quite frequently, and if I see someone describe the same problem, I will be able to help them.

Ah yes. When the 9700 came out, I was sorely tempted. The benchmarks do show that the 9700 is a solid performer, and stomps the Ti4600 when anitaliasing is enabled. But given the past reputation of ATI drivers, your experience, and the fact that at least one other user couldn't get the Dash 7 to run (MGD Bottled I believe), I decided to hold out for the nVidia 30 (the upcoming FX card). I can't wait to give that card a spin around the block though.
