January 4, 201214 yr I also think it's relatively unknown in general, although I'm not sure whyI really don't want to go political but I am sure if it was an Airbus, it would be 10 times popular and if it was a Boeing, it would be 100 times popular. :pardon:Another important fact is to operate this aircraft you have to learn a lot. Even though there is an English tutorial, the cockpit philosophy is so different that few take the challenge.I did, you did and some other guys too, but the number of non-Russian simmers flying it is obviously quite small. Also many pilots are comfortable with using FMC/MCDU, so they are rather reluctant to learn, say, more classic navigation systems. Not to mention the units which are used in Tu-154 cockpits by default...Plus the fact where TU-154 is used in real life, with which airlines under which liveries - that also matters for many. And least but not last, in recent years the Tu-154 has gained a rather bad repute due to more than a few disasters. It also infulences some people's decisions. Edited January 4, 201214 yr by Rafal
January 4, 201214 yr Spot on, Benjamin. That thing deserves some more attention and the fact that it's coming for free actually blows my mind.
January 4, 201214 yr For me, the PT Tu-154 is the best airplane add-on there is! :( :( :( B)On a separate Note: ..Why does this smell like OWS? B)Folks,[alert]No politics, please.[/alert]

Still, those seem like reasons for it not being popular; I don't see why these reasons should be stopping it from being known. It is a first class add-on and it deserves being more known, even if it's not the plane of choice for many people. January 4, 201214 yr Commercial Member In my view, most addons are selling way below their true value (not to be confused with their market value).Excellent point. The NGX should have been 3x the price and I would have been happy to pay it Noah Bryant
January 4, 201214 yr Excellent point. The NGX should have been 3x the price and I would have been happy to pay itPerhaps but I think they'd lose customer at that pricepoint. I bought it. It was the most expensive software for FS I've purchased. I don't fly the big jets often but I thought with all its features I would still fly it enough to justify the 70 bucks. If it were 200 I highly doubt I would fly it. But a lot of people would. If PMDG made a Falcon or Hawker jet with all those features I'd probably buy it 200 bucks. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
January 4, 201214 yr Personal impression. I've often experienced that freeware receives an invisible 'not so good' tag, which seems to affect people's interest in certain titles. So they hold out and hype themselves on upcoming payware, while some nice and free title may end up in the constant insider tip status.
January 4, 201214 yr It is a first class add-on and it deserves being more known, even if it's not the plane of choiceI think it will now become known after we wrote so much about it. :( Well worth it of course. So if anybody wants a lifetime challenge in FS, do give it a chance! Top notch for 0.0$.
January 4, 201214 yr Well I thought I've read it all amazing and I have done my share of freeware with a truckload of awards and downloads...It's real simple start your own and have fun ;-)With all respect you don't have a clue how long it takes to developa quality add-on, and when you do and have contributed yourself your free time we talk again... January 4, 201214 yr Commercial Member Love that pic Jim. Would love to steal it and I'd know right where to use it. :-) Regards, Dave Opper HiFi Support Manager

Top notch for 0.0$.Indeed :( I should really fire her up again. Once upona time I knew how to get the Tu-154M up and running in FS2004, but I haven't looked at it since. I've actually made it one of my goals for this year: learn to fly the FSX Tu-154B2! January 5, 201214 yr MS is clearly quite happy to explore the free intiial download model (regardless of what we may think MS Flight offers to the serious simmer). Food for thought. Edited January 5, 201214 yr by ray hughes
