February 21, 200422 yr "So the humps are due to flaws in the source data. "The TMF & LWM often show two diff images, also always I find they do.Having said that, I suppose we could fire off an email to NASA to re take the data ?LOLThere is 3 odd humps in NYC....the whole Eastern mesh is miles upon miles wide and long.Unless you wish to AI a boat or dwell in a hover or low n slow flight over the area over n over....I wouldnt loose much sleep over it nor dwell on the topic much longer.Issues like this are often emailed to me directly.Ive posted this before, and once again ' There is a young man who will use a flatten tool to fix the 3 lil humps that seem to worry some of you , and make you loose sleep.Youll get a fix... :- )RespectfullyI remain ,Robert L Gainer B.,Law
February 21, 200422 yr Yes, a great improvement over the default. I live in Somerset County NJ, and it's nice to see the Watchung Mountains look closer to 'real'.I still decided to treat myself, and I've got Megascenery NY on the way by Wednesday...Scott

February 21, 200422 yr As I've said to you in email and now publicly, your work is great. I am really enjoying the nW sceneries...some of the best.Sherm
February 21, 200422 yr >Here's what it did to the GWB..>>Scott>>It didn't do that tho the GWB. The GWB is like that even with the default mesh. I have a little flatten file that fixes it, (at least with the default mesh... haven't dl'ed this new one yet) and keeps the bridge above water. Unfortunately, since the bridge stanchions are no longer touching the water, they are now floating in the air.Flatten.0=278,N40 51.12,W73 57.67,N40 51.26,W73 57.67,N40 51.24,W73 57.52,N40 51.11,W73 57.53Flatten.1=3.5,N40 49.87,W73 57.99,N40 52.22,W73 56.78,N40 52.09,W73 56.33,N40 49.96,W73 57.43
February 22, 200422 yr Ok, for me this is a bit of a tuffy.First, thing is to say thank you!! Second, thing is to say thank you. Just to give a pespective on those of us that download --- Think I got it after over 12 hours on my humble 56k modem. Don't know what to say about the NY mesh. Heck, I can't fly and download. But, what ever small amount of flying got stuck between downloads. Yeah, gonna keep on downloading.Frenchy -- out.
February 22, 200422 yr Mr Gainer, I would like to give a big thank you for this awesome terrain you are providing this sim. Its simply amazing to fly around in :)What are your next projects, to cover the rest of parts of North America or somewhere else?Looking forward to it wichever it might be :)
February 22, 200422 yr Thank you, it was fun to make that series as well !I know here at AVSIM ( now the ONLY place Ill ever release from this day forth )Its a hot file to get, even tho its over 160 megs.Thx again, Robert L Gainer B.,Law
February 22, 200422 yr Robert...I hope you can find the time to do the Midwest, and especially around the Chicago area. We are a rather flat landscape over much of Illinois, but if you could see the rolling hills in the Northern sector of the state as well as the beauty of Wisconsin (carved out of the glacial retreat with still sizable moraines), you might want to give us a whirl. To the rest of the group, I should add that I asked robert for some insights into scenery design, which he graciously offered me in our emails. But, having a look at it, this is beyond the technical scope of anything I want to undertake at this time...so, Bob...I'm asking for your generosity of time and effort. Thanks!Sherm

February 23, 200422 yr Rob, I had to deactivate your wash_ore_montana scenery tonight after noting big spikes in downtown Seattle. Interestingly there was a large one near the "space needle". Might be a minor flaw? Otherwise no problems.Eric Joiner AND
February 23, 200422 yr Thats strange, I am having no problems in the Seattle area, in fact the Oregon-Washington-Montana package seems too be running fine. I did however end up deactivating the East coast mesh.
February 23, 200422 yr That is odd, I too did not see any such odd looking spike, and no users have reported any either .Not sure what to say..Ill take a closer look in that area, email me directly , with what other mesh's you have installed either from me , or others.Thx Robert L Gainer B.,Law
February 24, 200422 yr Robert,I see in the file library that there are 2 files. One is East Coast US, the other is New York and New Jersey. Oddly, the latter is a slightly bigger download than the former, even though the resolution seems to be the same. Could you please advise on the differences?ThanksRichard
February 24, 200422 yr If you dont mind , email diretly and Id be more than happy to give you a reply.ThxRobert L Gainer B.,Law
