F14b Tomcat and John J Schumacher's Panel

Featured Replies

Has anyone downloaded the file se.f14bv2 for use in Dino Cattaneo's F14B (file f14bfs9a.zip)?I like the new panel, but when I use the standard FS9 shift+3 keys, the FS crashes. Actually the FS freezes and shows no error message or shutdown message. This is a repeatable crash on my system. I don't have this problem with other jets. Anyone else tried shift+3? Normally this should display an instrument or something like that. Per John, it should bring up the RIO (which stands for?). I have installed the default components only for this panel. I don't really need the RIO, Apollo GPS, Radar, etc., that are not part of the README install.thanks,David

Ya might want to check over at http://www.sim-outhouse.com/ They have quite a bit of dialogue going on about the new panel.-------------------Racartronit means something, but I just can't remember what

Hey David. Got the panel installed and working fine. To get to the RIO position (that's the guy in back of the pilot) I don't use the Shift+3, I click on the ICON in the bottom left hand corner of the panel and switch back and forth (front seat to back seat) that way.Haven't experienced any lockups thus far with the panel and I move back and forth (the working radar is in the RIO position) quite a bit (always using the panel icons to do so). The RIO Position has the radar, and several other "screens" including a heads-up display in the back seat.Do you get a freeze-up using the icons to switch back and forth?

Bambi,I click on the small icon at the bottom left of the main cockpit and my FS9 crashes, just like when I use shift+3. I followed the directions in the README to install this panel: 1. Install the latest version of FSUIPC from - http://www.schiratti.com/files/dowson/FSUIPC.zip 2. Install Dino Cattaneo's F-14B for FS2004 (No need to install the gauges). 3. Unzip this package (se.f14bv2.zip) to a new folder on your desktop. 4. Unzip fs9.zip to your main FS2004 folder. 5. Unzip fde.zip to your F-14 main folder. 6. Unzip panel.zip to your F-14 panel folder. 7. Unzip gauges.zip to your FS2004gauges folder. 8. Unzip effects.zip to your FS2004effects folder. 9. Unzip sound.zip to your main FS2004sound folder.10. Tip : (Optional)>> Edit the fs9.cfg file to read:(CONTROLS) KBDAIL=46 KBDELEV=46 KBDRUD=64 PAN_RATE=400 <----------- incrrease it to 950 11. Open docs.zip and look over the documents for various systems.-------------------------------------------------------------------Anything else I need to do to make the RIO work? Does step 11 really should mean "make more modifications?" Do I need to make any mods to my aircraft.cfg or panel.cfg? I tried to get help from John, but he assumes way too much and has not addressed my issue. I'm going to re-install the panel. Yes, I have FSUIPC 3.20 installed.thanks,David>Hey David. I have re-installed the Schumacher's panel, which I like, but when I click on the smnall icon for the RIO, the sim crashes. I have NO issues with the sim and with any add-on software that I use.thanks,David

I'm using this panel and so far there have been no crashes.I was surprised to find the F-16 Radar gauge was fully functional on this panel even without the registered version of FSUIPC? I am using the same guage with Eric Marciano's fine F-16 panel but this one has a non functioning Radar guage??Does anyone know why one panel works while the other just sits there looking pretty?? Any help would be appreciated.Best regards,Jan

What you could try (just a wild guess):Remove the gauge TC.FuelstatusCG.gau (an "old" FS98 gauge using FSUIPC) from the gauges folder, and see if the problem is gone now.Rob

Hey David,John put out a small update for the heads-down view of the panel, file name is f14b.dn.zip. I don't know if it will cure your issue, but the "patch" is out there.
