January 8, 201214 yr Hey folks,I am using FS9 now for about 2 years, and since I bought a new and really good computer I have real problems to get aircraft addons running properly. In fact, I have about 15 aircraft addons currently installed, but only about 3 of them are working, the other 12 are either working heavily restricted or not at all. I have never heard of such a weird problem before, and I neither have any idea what might be causing all the addons to fail, nor how to fix that.I'm rather confused, any help would be wonderful :(
January 8, 201214 yr With that little (close to zero) information you gave us, it is simply impossible to help you.If you care to be cared about, please share some more info like:- your FS9 version (FS9 or FS9.1)- your OS- your hardware- the exact aircraft not working- description of the problems
January 8, 201214 yr Author Sorry, got interrupted while writing and forgot to add some information..The weird thing is that all that problems are not really similar to each other.. however, some issues:- I cannot load the QW 757, FS9 crashes everytime. I figured out that this has something to do with the Addon Manager, but that's all I know so far- I cannot use the Wilco 737 and Feel There E-Jets. The more switches I press and the more information I insert into the FMC, the more my computer hangs. When I'm ready for take-off I cannot fly properly anymore.- the PSS 777 doesn't hold the heading, it always begins to turn left and right, so even holding the localizer is not really possible.- the fps of the Airsimmer A320 are extremely low, so that plane is not really flyable.- Flight Simulator crashes everytime during descent with the iFly 737NG- Before every flight with the PMDG MD-11, I have to reinstall it, otherwise FS crashes once airborne.- This issue concerns nearly every addon, except the Captain Sim 757. Repaints are not shown in the FS menu, even though they were installed correctly. My current version of FS9 is 9.1. I use Windows 7 32bit (SP1) Intel® Core i3 CPU 530 @ 2x 2.93 GHz4GB of RAM (2,99GB available)NVIDIA GeForce GT 330DirectX 11.0any help? :(
January 8, 201214 yr You have UAC off and installing by rivht clicking and selecting "run as administrator".No idea just suggesting this as this is how i install everything and never really had a major issue Edited January 8, 201214 yr by flyinpilot212121 Intel I7 12700KF / 32 GB Ram-3600mhz / Windows 11 - 64 bit / NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060TI / 32" Acer Monitor, Honeycomb alpha/bravo, CH rudder pedals, Tobii 5, Buttkicker, Logitech radio panel.
January 8, 201214 yr Author Well, I always install addons as admin, I reckon most of them even have to be installed as administrator. Maybe some other important point is that I run FS9 usually without administrator rights?
January 8, 201214 yr Since you have a new computer, did you reinstall all your addons as some have very tricky piracy protection.
January 9, 201214 yr Since you have a new computer, did you reinstall all your addons as some have very tricky piracy protection.+1.QW757 is not activated, and to do so, you must have the sim running (as in flying). Download the FSDT Addon Manager as described in this thread: http://forum.qwsim.com/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=900&p=7600#p7600Essential. That's the only one I know will help you.FSUIPC... Up to date? Sam Nicholson - UK Only just got back in to flight simming and Avsim after a year or so - pardon me whilst I find my feet again!
January 9, 201214 yr In Win 7 turning off UAC does not turn off all of the user restrictions, unlike VISTA. In addition user account access privileges and application level are different beasts. Setting up a shortcut to your applications and setting the properties to run as admin will take care of your program level accesses just as if you started everything with the run as admin right click. This type of access goes beyond file access and affects the Win 7 interprocess messaging system.FSUIPC where used should be updated from these two links, the base version first and any interim update next:http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.htmlhttp://forum.simflight.com/topic/66139-updated-modules/ where FSUIPC 3.998q is current. It helps to also have your shortcut to FS9.exe properties set to run as admin as well. Finally, in any Windows supplied or add-on security packages be sure all of your FS applications have been bypassed (are not checked) in your antivirus and firewall and are allowed to use their components.
January 9, 201214 yr Author I have already reinstalled the addons that are not working properly several times and have also taken care that non of their files have been checked by my antivirus system, but all the failures still appear. Concerning the QW757, to activate it I've already been told to update the add-on manager, the newest version is already installed, but for some reason it is always the older version when running FS9 without admin rights, and I usually run FS9 without admin rights.I will try to update FSUIPC, thanks for all your help anyway :)
January 10, 201214 yr Do you have Flight Simulator installed under Program Files?Read my write up here:http://forum.avsim.net/topic/340076-migrating-fs9-from-xp-32bit-to-windows-7-64bit/One last thing, it's a huge mistake running Windows 7 32Bit. That memory cap at 3gigs is a killer especially in the new OS. In this day and age you need a 64Bit OS. You'd be surprised at how better FS9 runs under Windows 7 64bit. January 12, 201214 yr Author Updating FSUIPC does not help.. Yes, FS9 is installed under Program Files. Thanks for the suggestion to try Windows 7 64bit, I'm gonna try it in the next days, and also thanks for posting that link, I'm sure it's gonna help :)
