Glen.I certainly can understand your frustration,I just did a test flight @26000 and can't reproduce the 2D effect.Could this be a GPU/Driver issue? I'm running a GTX580BTW.

I'd love to try an Nvidia card, there's only one problem. I will not fly without my 3 monitor set-up. Never thought it would be such a big deal, until I tried it. Could never go back to anything less. Too expensive in $ and power to run 2 580's in surround. The 590 is an option but it didn't review very well. Don't think it's any quicker than my 6970 anyways. I could go 580 with Th2go, that's an option as my monitors are only 1280x1024 so I could keep the resolution down. Something to think about if ATI is going to be an issue with XPX.Glen

Your running triple screens? My machine is basically the same as yours but its a i5 @4.5 with the 6970 and I am keeping it single screen. Normally I run my other stuff at ~ 6900x1080.

Jason, I don't know what your trying to say?But yes, I run Eyefinity with 3 1280x1024 monitors at 3840x1024 with Trackir 5. Wouldn't fly with anything less. The fov is amazing and adds so much to the flying experience. I do my testing on a single monitor and can't wait to get back to 3. One monitor now feels like I'm sitting in a box with blinders on, there is no comparison.Glen

OK, I understand, I run 3 monitors at 1920x1080 each and I would not get the performance I want currently with xplane if I run at full res. I see you are running at a lower total res, i.e. 3840x1024 rather than my 6980x1080 so you will get a better framerate than I do.

I had to take myself up to 60,000 feet before the clouds got really ugly. Even at 30,000 feet they didn't look too bad.(Oh, and good luck trying to fly a Cessna 152 at 60,000 feet!)

I think if LR should put some sort of Advance settings (cloud settings) for those that have high end computers . This option would be available only if your setup can handle it and the criteria could be based on fill-rate for example.just a thought.Carlos

+1 I'm with you on this. The original clouds that shipped were really nice.

I think it can work.An external utility that can be executed to measure and determine if your system is really capable of taking advantage of the Cloud Advance Settings. But what do I know, maybe Ben/Austin can consider it.
