G500 Alerts

Recommended Posts

I find the constant "Airspace" alerts really annoying...If it bothers you enough, you can edit the G500 code to shut them off.1. Create a subfolder to your Gauges folder and call it G500_P46T.2. Unzip the G500_P46T.cab file (located in the Gauges folder) into this new subfolder.3. Edit both G500.xml and G500_3d.xml files with Wordpad or your favorite text editor.- search for <Update id="Alerts Query">- when found, bracket the section with comment signs, like so:

<!-- Disable Alerts		<Update id="Alerts Query">			<Script>(A:GPS POSITION LAT, Radians) (>@c:NearestAirspaceCurrentLatitude, Radians)(A:GPS POSITION LON, Radians) (>@c:NearestAirspaceCurrentLongitude, Radians)(A:GPS POSITION ALT, Meters) (>@c:NearestAirspaceCurrentAltitude, Meters)(A:GPS GROUND TRUE TRACK, Radians) (>@c:NearestAirspaceTrueGroundTrack, Radians)(A:GPS GROUND SPEED, knots) (>@c:NearestAirspaceGroundSpeed, knots)2 (>@c:NearestAirspaceNearDistance, nmiles)200 (>@c:NearestAirspaceNearAltitude, feet)10 (>@c:NearestAirspaceAheadTime, minutes)9 (>@c:NearestAirspaceMaximumItems)100 (>@c:NearestAirspaceMaximumDistance, NMiles)0xEFC038  (>@c:NearestAirspaceQuery)</Script>		</Update>    -->

The <!-- --> sequence indicates a comment4. Save the xml file (with an xml extension)5. That is it! If you want to revert to the Carenado original, just rename or delete the new subfolder.

Ahh that's great Bert! Thanks for that. The alerts can be a bit annoying to say the least.

Carenado tells me that Alerts can also be disabled in theG500 config file by adding this line:0 (>L:G500_AlertsVisable, bool) // Alert OFF
