my rxp530w won't drive the malibu

Recommended Posts

So if I understood correctly, all you do is program the fp in the RXP GNS530 and it comes up on the MFD automatically for you? I've tried that, but it doesn't seem to work.
Correct, works for me.

I must be doing something wrong then! I get the FP working perfectly on the 530, but no sign of it in the mfd =/

I do not get it showing on the MFD either... I suspect that those that do, have the flight planactive in FSX, and that that is what is being displayed...As a test, enter a flightplan in the 530 only, without using a flightplanner andsee what happens!

A flight programed into the RXP GPS won't show up anywhere but on the RXP GPS, unless you export it and load it with the flight sim flight planner.

My apologies for my earlier posts, you are correct. The flight plan must be loaded in the flight sim flight planner. I mistakenly forgot that I had done this, I typically do not use this because I fly online, but in my familiarization flights with the aircraft, I was flying offline with FSX ATC.

Oh, then everything's working as it should then. Thanks for the replies!
Yep, with the RXP 530 programmed and the flightplan loaded in the FSX flight planner, you should see it on the GNS500.

Indeed. I should've thought of that earlier. Doing my first flight right now from KORS to KTIW and I've gotta say... she is a beaut... and flies just as good as she looks.

Any of you made it to export a flightplan from the RXP530 to the ms flightplanner ?
I use FSBuild, but any flight plan utility that can export to FSX will work.

You can do that by right-clicking the FPL button once you have the FP loaded and active on the RXP GNS530. It generates a *.PLN file under My Documents/Flight Simulator X files.

Sorry to drag up a dead topic, but I don't know if Isaac ever got this figured out. It looks to me from your .cfg that both the 530 and the 430 are set as radio/com 1. This is likely your problem. If you want your 530 to drive the navigation in GPS mode, try editing your 430 in both the VC and Popup windows as rxpGNS!GNS430_2. That will set the second unit to a com/nav 2 unit and give the aircraft a clear indication of what to follow.

Careful with the above recommendation... GNS430_2 only works if you have the RXP Unlimitedpackage installed! instead, leave the gauge as GNS 430 and use the RXP gns waas config appto set the 430 to NAV2, or edit the rxpgns.ini file by hand to:[GNS530]Popup=10020AutoPilotMode=2Radios=1LinkCdiKey=OnAutoApproach=OffLinkToVor=OnAutoCourse=Onetc[GNS430]AutoPilotMode=2Radios=2LinkCdiKey=OffAutoApproach=OffLinkToVor=OffLcdStyle=OffAutoWidth=500AutoHeight=210etc
