And now it starts crashing FSX...?

Recommended Posts

Bought the md-11 in august last year. Have had countless flights in it with out any problems. Then I left it in the "hangar" for a couple of weeks and was about to make a flight today.I loaded the panel and it was dark and frozen with yoke stuck in full left position. I searched the forums for that one, and found that i had to save a config in the load manager.I did that, and now it crashes every time I load the flight, either from the free flight menu or even after ive loaded a cessna and try to switch over.I have the UIAutomationcore.dll vista type in the FSX main folder.I recently bought and installed EZdock and some scenery addons as well as the Simcheck A300.I searched the forums for similar topics, but many of them was about solving the issue with the vista type .dll which ive already done. One thing is to have multiple crashes when the product is new, but when its been tried and tested so many times over, and it then starts to crash its like :( B) :( B) :( in that order...BTW The crash log blames it on FSX.EXE

Hello Yngve, I hate when the event logs just point to fsx.exe, so useless. That though is expected since the crash is happening within fsx or one of the addons. What you mentioned having to fix with load manager I never saw myself and can't say I understand what you meant there. A link would help. It's hard to say which addon is causing the issue since it's hard to thoroughly catch everything as we all install addons. I've learned to test every new addon (like EZCA, not so much on scenery) by loading up a dll extensive aircraft like the PMDG and an FSDT airport. Just my own testing since I've spent many moons trying to find an issue and it ended up being an FSDT thing (like bglman.dll or whatever). In any case, I always load a PMDG or = aircraft after each addon install to test.Leaving FSX for a time and later going back produces what always seems like a bitter woman mad at you for ignoring her. This is often something that will work itself out as far as sluggishness and jitters, low fps, etc. It's often tied into the layout of which windows is working with. The actual issue you're having though certainly sounds more like either corruption or something not running, like a needed dll. Have you installed any virus scammers lately? The first thing you should try though is to move your fsx.cfg somewhere else, like your desktop so FSX builds a new one. If you installed in the default dreaded fsx location then start fsx using "Run as admin", even if you have UAC shut off.

Yes it is!
Leaving FSX for a time and later going back produces what always seems like a bitter woman mad at you for ignoring her. LOL! Just like that, acting up and I have no idea why:-). I did come across DLL.XML corruption which seems to effect the PMDG 747 and MD11. It may just be something there, and I did install Norton 2012 package recently. Mylaptop got infected with a malware/virus thing so full of rage I used to weeks to get rid of it, freaked out and installed Norton on my desktop too.
The first thing you should try though is to move your fsx.cfg somewhere else, like your desktop so FSX builds a new one. If you installed in the default dreaded fsx location then start fsx using "Run as admin", even if you have UAC shut off.
Luckily I have not installed it in the dreaded default location. FSX has its own hd. I shall give it a try! Also, about the load manager, I tried to find the post myself, but heres the thing:Two weeks ago I installed Ezdock, and as I was making camera positions on the MD-11, I noticed that it did not initialise, the yoke remained stuck in full left position, and the screens where dark.I then found a post where it said that if u left the darling alone in the hangar for a while, u should run load manager and ad some wheights to her, and that would fix the issue. Did not work for meand I tried to find that post again with no luck.Oh I hate this, the MD-11 cravings is like a bad case addiction.. No wonder my friends get weird faces when I talk about FSX and PMDG :( Ohh yeah!BTW: Thanx for helping out here! Its truly appreciated:-)

Thanx
No problem, hopefully it will help. That's odd about the MD11 fix, sort of like a weird need to reinitialize it. I can't see how it would actually matter though and probably just the placebo effect (you know, I was rubbing my head and spinning my pen last time I installed it, and it worked great, so this time I'll be sure to do the same thing!) I could very well be wrong on that though, it happened once before :( There are a lot of things out there though that are very often nothing more than placebos.Personally I never run any virus anything, ever. I try not to preach that to others though, it's different for me (my porn is adware free!). Disable it completely and try to run it then.Always be careful with virus scanners, scans. Never give them too much control. They often see FSXaddon critical dll's as something bad and if left to do as they pathetically do, they'll quarentine them, block them, or even worse, delete them all together. You really need to watch those dumb things, they're more trouble then the viruses in my opinion. Check it's quarentine and see if it has anything. If not, see if it has a log of everything it did and look for anything fsx related. A good way to check if it doesn't have that, is run CCleaner on your registry but don't let it clean it. Run it just to see what broken links might be in there that are in relation to your FSX. That will save having to sift through the registry yourself.

If you have malware, then try running mrt.exe on your system (free).(as well as security essentials)It's the Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool that you get as part of your updates. No need for wasting money on Norton, better that PMDG get it instead
