Hi i know this is a daft question, but when coming in for an ILS approach if the purple mark is too high on the PFD does this mean i am too low or too high on the approach.Thanks Chris,

If I'm understanding your question correctly, you're too low. Imagine the magenta as the path you should be on. Edited January 19, 2012 by ZachLW

Too low. For ease you can change your ND view to show you descent path.

Are you talking about the glideslope/glidepath indicator (which I think is white) or the Vnav Path indicator (Which is Purple/Magenta)?JB

You are too low. The diamond that appears is the glideslope, you want that to be centered by "following" it.

That is only if you have the VSD option enabled in the FMC, and some liveries don't come with it on as default.
