I have this "problem" that is actually quite frustrating and I wonder how other people tackle it: having too many high quality add-ons and too little time.Over the years I've purchased several thousand euros worth of add-ons for flightsims starting with Fly!. It's a small fortune but then again flightsimming and airplanes in general is my main (sad to say) hobby so it's allowed to cost. Many add-ons I have purchased, tried and never used again while others are some that i just keep coming back to. Take airplanes, I don't have just one favourite since many are of such extraordinary quality and I do different kinds of flying. So these (for fs9 and fsx) are SOME of the ones I tend to switch between: LevelD767, PMDG MD11, PMDG747, PMDG737, PMDG737NGX, Aeroworx Kingair 200, Flight1 ATR42, Realairsimulation (all of them...), A2A cub, Aerosoft DA-20, DA Fokker 70/100, Maddog 2008, Milviz 310, several Carenado etc.I am totally fascinated by them all and simply couldn't concentrate one just of them. Which of course results in having a decent knowledge of them all, but no really deep insight in any (well, except the PMDG737 I guess) and so many of them really deserves a more thorough study, considering the depth and dedication that went into their development. Or take the DA Dornier-27 for FS9 that I have hardly touched despite many believe it's among the best airplanes made for FS9. Now I'm eyeing the Aerosoft Bronco that seems sooo cool and would suite the ORBX sceneries perfectly, but at the same time I'm in love with the PMDG727NGX, (and then another) BUT I love flying on VATSIM and Squawkbox 4 just crashes for me in FSX so I fly there a lot with my FS9-airplanes.I can hardly ask developers to stop producing new wonderful add-ons for a couple of years so I can catch up... Good thing is that if no more add-ons och flightsims were developed, I would be fine for quite some time and actually kind of relieved! :DBut do other flightsimmers share this feeling of frustration and even guilt (!) since you don't have time to give these magnificent add-ons the attention they deserve?! And do I get an award for being the most rambling post of the day? :D

Yeah, I know that feeling all too well. I have it with aircraft and scenery addons. In the end, I sort of deal with it by making up specific routes for specific planes. Here are some exmaples:- I use the Simcheck A300 for EGNX-EDDP, or flights from Pakistan to the UAB.- My PMDG 747-8 will be used primarily as a Cargolux 747-8F for flights from Luxembourg to for example Maastricht-Aachen, then on to America and back.- The PMDG 747-400 is a plane I use for flight from Amsterdam to America, although with McPhat hopefully soon releasing its WA3 liveries pack, I might expand operations.- The PMDG 737NGX can be used wherever, so that depends on what I feel like doing with it.- The PMDG MD-11 however, is a plane I tend to use for long haul KLM flights, or cargo flights within the USA, but in the near future I might use it for China Cargo Airlines flights from Shanghai-Pudong to Hong Kong, Tokyo and Seoul.- The Leonardo Maddog is a plane I fly almost solely in Scandinavia. I want to do some flights with it around Spain too, though.- The Aerosoft Airbus X sees most of its action in the UK, flying as Easyjet between various airports.- The PMDG J41 gets to fly between select airports in Australia, where OrbX's sceneries cover all of the land.- The LDS767 sadly hasn't been flown for some time, although I've been contemplating reintroducing it on Amsterdam-America flights. I have been wanting to fly it between America and Mexico and within Mexico in MAS Cargo livery.- The QW757 is a plane I don't usually fly at the moment, but I tend to use it around the USA and Europe, doing United, American, Delta, USAirways and Icelandair flights.I think you get the picture. For every region, I have two or three aircraft that get to fly there. So, as a result:- Amsterdam - USA: PMDG 747, LDS767.- within USA: PMDG 737NGX, QW757, LDS767, PMDG MD-11, CS727 (cargo only)- Central America: Airbus X, PMDG 737NGX- South America: PMDG 737NGX- Scandinavia: Leonardo Maddog, QW757 (Finnair flights only)- Arrival/departure Germany: PMDG 737NGX, Airbus X, Simcheck A300 (cargo only)- Middle/East Europe: Airbus X (Swiss, Austrian), PMDG 737NGX (Austrian, Malev)- Middle East: Simcheck A300, LDS767 (El Al flights, might be expanded with PMDG 747)- Spain: (Airbus X (Iberia flights)), Leonardo Maddog- East Asia: PMDG 747 (Cargo Hong Kong flights, mostly), PMDG MD-11 (China/Japan/South Korea cargo flights)- Southeast Asia: PMDG 747 (both cargo and pax)- Australia - Southeast Asia: LDS767, (A330)- Russia: PT Tu-154, An-24, Il-96 (for as far as still used), (PMDG 737NGX, QW757)- Arrival/Departure North korea: PT Tu-154- Australia: Airbus X, PMDG J41, PMDG 737NGX- Cuba: An-24 (domestic Aerocaribean), An-26 (Havana-Merida Aerogaviota), Yak-42 (Domestic Cubana, mostly), Il-96 (Long haul Cubana)With such a system, I do manage to get some diversity on my flights, both with regard to the airports I frequent and the aircraft I fly.EDIT: added some additional planes.

Wow Benjamin, that is one comprehensive aircraft roster. I copied and pasted that. I am still reading up on the Mad Dog, but will apply something along the lines you posted for the future.

Thanks Benjamin! I must say that is a novel approach I have never even thought of! :D When I fly airliners, especially on VATSIM, I also try to make it as realistic as possible, eg as you flying SAS MD80 to/from Scandinavia, the 747 on long, international routes and always when flying in the US (which I do most of the time) pick a flight from Flightaware with all it details. It can get a bit silly since I haven't found any domestic 747 pax routes in the US so I can't fly it there... I know, the beauty with a flightsim is that you can fly a concorde from KLGA to KJFK if so your heart desires, but I just can't bring myself to it! :D Thank God for cargo flights! :D

Julian, if you get the Maddog don't forget to purchase FS2Crew for the bird! Adds a new dimension to an already fantastic machine!

Glad my post is found useful :)I updated it just now with some other aircraft and regions, such as Cuba, which I use primarily to fly Russian aircraft. Especially Cubana still uses some pretty interesting aircraft, such as the Il-96 and Yak-42.

That British Midland scenery from UK2000 opened up my eyes to DHL! Now at least I can pull out these planes from my hangar at EGNX and dress them in the DHL livery: Beech 1900, ATR42, DC-9, 777, 747, 757, 767, 727 (!), C208, and if I had them in my stable, the AN-26, DC-8 and A300!

I thought about it Krister, but It does not have the button version, which is a shame. Due to a mild stroke I had some months back, the voice recognition would not work for me.
