February 2, 201214 yr anyone know if there's an option in the fsx.cfg or somewhere else that can set the default fuel when you select an aircraft to be zero? Mitch
February 2, 201214 yr Commercial Member To answer your question, I don't think so....and why? You'd never walk up to a plane with zero fuel, just like you would probably never walk up to a car with zero fuel. If you did, your airline would be in a world of regulatory issues with the FAA (or similar regulatory body). Kyle Rodgers
February 2, 201214 yr Did you tried setting the fuel at 0, saving that panel and then choosing the same one as default?I usually save the panel at the end of each flight and the fuel amount get saved too. Don't know if it will let you save it at 0.And another thing, if you start a flight with 0 fuel, you might get a electric hydraulic overheat failure or something like that, because it need fuel to cool down, i think. February 3, 201214 yr HiEvery engine or system has a certain amount of unusable fuel and oil. Unless you dry the tubes with a hairdryer. :) Laszlo Meszaros
February 3, 201214 yr To change the default fuel for planes using the default fsx system for fuel you need to edit your FLTSIM.FLT. Its located at FSXFlightsotherFLTSIM.FLT. Open it with your favorite text editor, search for the line string [Fuel.0]. Change the entire [Fuel.0] section so its similar to my example: [Fuel.0]TankSelector=AllTankSelector1=AllCenter=0LeftMain=0RightMain=0LeftAux=0RightAux=0LeftTip=0RightTip=0Center 2=0Center 3=0External 1=0External 2=0 Oh, make sure that you create a backup of FLTSIM.FLT before you make any edits to it.There are many other things you can edit in this file that corresponds to the default state of the airplanes, like engine running / shut down, systems running, default weather etc. Edited February 3, 201214 yr by Sekstifire Johan Pettersen
