There are many, many posts about the ntdll.dll crash in the CTD forum. There is no magic bullet solution other than to lower your FSX settings. You can also install the 64 bit version of Windows and that might handle memory issues (it IS a memory issue). Make sure your MSV's and Microsoft.net software is up-to-date and you have all the MSV's from 2005 to 2010.Best regards,Jim

Since you're running FSX under Win-32, have you need to add the /USERVA switch to your boot.ini file (Editing BOOT.INI)/Userva=2560 or /Userva=3072That way Win-32 will allocate up to 2.5 or 3 GBy RAM for use by FSX.Cheers,- jahman.

I too was getting ntdll.dll errors today I had the default CYVR scenery making a mess of of a recently-installed freeware CYVR from Jonathan Grabbert(hope I've spelt that correctly). Everytime I approached the take-off point the plane just shot down some ravine and then decided to take off on its own. I uninstalled the freeware, went back to the default, reloaded the flight right from the beginning, and the ntdll.dll error disappeared. So check that you don't have a scenery conflict.

Thanks all for reaction and hints re solutions. Before applying some of your ideas would like more clarification.firehawk44I should have mentioned that Event Viewer also stated : Exception code c0000005. So this is, as you said, a memory issue and not a possibility of corrupt/demaged ntddll.dll file. Not sure what I would gain by changing to 64 bit. Forums indicate that system also has FSX crashes. How can I check MS.net software is up to date and I have all the MSV`s from 2005 to 2010. Presently I have Microsoft.net Framework Client Profile 4 version 4.0.30319 +update KB 2446708. As regards MSV`s, 2005 Redistributables + update KB 973923, 2008 and 2010 + update KB2467173.jahmanAfter opening System Configuration, selecting Boot Tag, what is the next step ? Do I select Advanced Option where Max memory presently is shown as 4096 ?Once again thank you.

Win7-64-bit Pro version here, and have yet to experience a 'crash' of any kind, in fact I would go out on a limb and say that Windows 7 64 bit is the most stable and robust MS operating system to date.

Same here, I have never experienced a crash in FSX, running Wiindows 7 Home Premium 64bit.

How can I check MS.net software is up to date and I have all the MSV`s from 2005 to 2010. Presently I have Microsoft.net Framework Client Profile 4 version 4.0.30319 +update KB 2446708. As regards MSV`s, 2005 Redistributables + update KB 973923, 2008 and 2010 + update KB2467173.
Just run Windows update. If it states you have no updates, then MS.net is up-to-date. Not having the MSV's from 2005 could be an issue as FSX is an old program and some of the addons use 2005 Redistributables to manage the installation and runtime of FSX programs. In fact, I thought the 2005 Redistributable was installed before installing FSX and/or Acceleration. Download from the following link: http://www.microsoft...ls.aspx?id=5638. Once completed, run your Windows update program again and it should pick up updates to this package. The KB's have nothing to do with the MSV's Redistributables. Here's a link to help you setup the /3GB switch recommended by jahman - http://www.simforums...topic29041.html. Go down about halfway down the page until you see information about memory. As recommended by others above, installing the 64 bit version of Windows is a great idea....Best regards,Jim Edited by firehawk44

The broad consesus is FSX runs better on all the 64-bit versions of Windows (XP, Vista, 7).Cheers,- jahman.
