757 Pitch's Up On ILS Approach Why Is That ?

Featured Replies

Hi i just got the 757 Fremuim addiction from Just Flight. I only manage to land once in ILS i can land the plane manual with out any problem . But i keep asking myself why does in the ils approach the aircraft pitches up then pitches back down so down that i can't recover the aircraft from the mayor dive it takes on an ILS approach . This happens right when the aircraft captures the glide slope, an its start to decend. I fallow all the steps in this check list i found in freechecklists.net. I really don't know if this is the correct checklist for an approach. If any one has any idea how to land an ils approach with out the aircraft going in a rollercoaster ride up an down , in 757 please let me know . I did once but don't know what am doing wrong now .IF anyone can please list the correct speed or flaps during the decend when capturing the glide slope please list them?Thank YouGod Bless You All

Do not engage APPR mode until the GS 'dot' is about 1/2 dot high, it sounds like you are too far below the GS when you engage and its trying to climb to catch it.I dont have this plane but the 757's I do use I fly I set speed to about 150kts and full flaps, AFTER passing the outer marker.

Flap schedule. Spd.weight. flapsettings. Improper flap schedules can cause nose up or down attutudes.

Flaps deploying on a 757 will pitch the nose slightly down, not up. You should intercept the GS from below, just wait until it is almost centered before engaging the APP mode on the AP.
