Fuel flow si not affected by heating ecc?

Recommended Posts

I noticed that de ice, heating, ice door, have no effect on fuel consumption. There should be a consistent difference, expecially at high cold altitudes. Am I doing something wrong?Thanks.Igor.

Does your car need noticable more fuel if you turn up the temperature ?

Bstolle, If you read this flying tips from real pa46t pilot:http://www.pa46t.com/index_files/Page385.htmhe says that at cruise level, in a typicall winter day, he has to set 900 lbs of torque instead of 800 because of heating. It is a considerable difference I think.

Because the engine isn't delivering enough bleed air at the combination of low torque and low temperature. You have to increase power manually simply to get a higher bleed air flow from the engine to keep the temperature up.But increasing the temperature itself has nothing to do with a loss of performance etc..
