It's still there. It now contains 89 comments, of which 99% are negative and/or abusive. So hardly any censorship going on. Unless ofcourse people post really nasty comments...
And now there are 91 comments but the page has 7,314 Likes. So I guess over 7,000 visitors to the page did not feel compelled to make disparaging remarks about the product.

I'm quite sure most flight game fans are positive. It's mostly those expecting FS11 that feel dissapointed. But 7314 likes is abysmal for a game expected to sell 20-30 million copies/downloads.

I think you have to "Like" the page in order to comment, whether positively or negatively...

lol really? I did not know that - I am not a Facebook person myself. Oh well, that makes 7,000 people who did not hate the game sufficiently to make disparaging remarks about it! :)

I agree.

Obviously, MS is engaged in wanting to market their game. Having a group of heavily opinionated people who are have not played the game yet but voice negative opinions, and keep repeating they will not buy the game, are not their target demographic.. why should they keep their comments up? If you were angling to sell something and people kept putting up snide or pointed comments on your site, would you be ok with it? There are channels to let MS know your opinions that do not intrude on their campaigns to sell their game, use them. You should all realize the more people who play Flight, the greater number of people who will search out better and more complex flight sim games in the future. You should all be rooting for Flight, regardless of whether it is your cup of tea, because ultimately it opens the way for more of what you want.

why should they keep their comments up?
There may be method in the madness. If you read through the comment list, you will notice that Microsoft are replying to them in such a way as to make it obvious that they are completely ignoring the negative comments. The more they show they are ignoring them, the more the perception will be that the negative comments are water off a duck's back.I'm sure they must have had team meetings where team members have been briefed to respond in the way they do, but having read through all those comments, my impression is that Microsoft have shown alot of class and this tends to water down the effect of the negative comments. In the end, I think most sensible people will just simply download the game and make their own minds up.

I would imagine that since most comments are coming from users who have yet to see the released product, don't carry a lot of weight. Being a beta tester is a very different thing I suppose, although I don't think the fan page would be aware of that.

No, you don't. I've often wondered why Facebook doesn't offer a "Dislike" option...

My mistake, sorry... but on the bright side, the Likes are up to 7326!

I'm surprised that very few seem to have noticed that we can "Like" or "Dislike" posts here at AVSIM now as well!

Not all of us can do this, apparently.I can like as many posts as I want, but it won't let me dislike a single post. I get a message saying "You have reached your quota of negative votes for the day" although I haven't disliked anything yet. I'm not sure if that is because there are different "tiers" of users here, or maybe the mods just want to keep things positive.

I've never tried to "Dislike" any post myself. Imagine my surprise to receive the same "...reach your quota..." message myself! I suspect you may be right, but then it could simply be "misconfigured and/or broken." :(

I'm guessing the dislike option is a standard part of the forum package that Avsim couldn't remove, but could prevent from being used by giving everyone a quota of 0.
