ENB Series...should I take the plunge?!

Featured Replies

I've tried it out and I really like it, problem is that I have no time to tinker around to get something similar to NickN's settings for ENB. If anyone know how to, please tell :DJohn

John, download "FXAA_Tool.exe" on the same page where you downloaded the file earlier. I think this helps a lot. I'm still in my work, I could not go home to see how it looks. Look at Zach's post up there that should help.Edit: You tested with NGX? You found more stable than the ENB?

Played with the settings and there seems to be a plethora of possible setups from subtle effects to vintage movies to ultra glow and much more. I however have not yet identified the correct settings for realistic image.I didn't do a test flight however, just entered free flight with the ngx, looks pretty cool. Just that the VC gets a bit blurred. I believe it was mentioned this is fixed by turning supersampling off.

Save a flight somewhere you frequent in the afternoon. Start with all options off except bloom. Keep bloom at the lowest setting, and work you're way up. From there, load your saved flight every you try a new setting. It takes a while, but I got the settings exactly where I want them after about 20 minutes.

Zac,couldn't see on the website whether FXAA will work in FSX in 3D. Do you happen to have any idea?Rgds,

I have no idea. I'm not a 3d user myself.I'll look.Edit: http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/36537-fxaa-post-process-injection/Post #1. Search the page for "Anaglyphic". Hopefully that will send you in the right direction.

The effect is pretty subtle on my machine (and I can try to snag some shots this weekend of full-out night - these are dusk), but it just adds a little pop to the highs and lows that you should be seeing, if you were to be looking at the same thing in person. All before pics will be first (or left), whereas ENB enabled will be the last (or right). Yes, I know they're smaller than you're used to, but I wanted to be sure you could see them side-by side (otherwise, the way LCDs show them, they may appear to be similar - the originals are linked below):2012-2-16_18-8-42-945.jpg2012-2-16_18-8-45-81.jpg2012-2-16_18-9-30-336.jpg2012-2-16_18-9-33-688.jpg2012-2-16_18-13-48-669.jpg2012-2-16_18-13-49-938.jpgHere are two more with no pre-view, as I took them a long time ago:2011-12-27_17-32-54-355.jpg2011-12-27_17-33-12-882.jpgOriginals:https://picasaweb.go...feat=directlink

Beautiful pictures, Kyle. The NGX is even more beautiful this way. In fact, all the FSX is pretty cool. Unfortunately, I'm doing something wrong. I put the Directx9 files in the FSX root folder, but nothing happens. The FXAAA_tool not have the button to save or restore. I do not know what I'm doing wrong. I'm trying, I'm trying... :(

Did you put all the files in the fsx folder?
Yes all the files in the FSX folder. But I was just thinking, I don't disabled the AA in Nvidia Inspector. Tonight when I get home I'll try something else, maybe I'll pull a rabbit out of hat ... hehehe ... Thanks for the help.

Still waiting. :D I just loaded this over my ENB and I can tell there is an improvement in quality and performance. Not much, but every little counts.

Kyle;I'd also be curious as to how you set up Inspector if you have it.I currently have Shade, MXAA and Inspector. I was wondering how they can coexist and provide some great visuals. Thanks in advance!
