February 18, 201214 yr Author What you say is of course true and I realize CI values doesn't come in one size fits all but would be nice to know if you should use 5, 50 or 500 if you like to use a realistic CI for the airline you fly for in FS.On my last flight with LN-RRH I used 7 as mentioned above which I think is quite close to what SAS uses IRL for their 738's.
February 18, 201214 yr Had you come across these articles yet?http://www.boeing.com/commercial/aeromagazine/articles/qtr_4_07/article_05_1.htmlhttp://boeing.com/commercial/aeromagazine/articles/qtr_2_07/article_05_1.htmlI think that database is going to be the closest you're going to get to finding an average value to use. February 18, 201214 yr When I flew jumpseat Åre-Östersund to Stockholm-Arlanda in september last year the CI was 6. I don't remember if it was a B736 or B738. So I bet 6-7 is what they use today. Edited February 18, 201214 yr by Hillblom86 Regards Stefan Hillblom

February 18, 201214 yr What SAS DVD is that? I have a couple of them myself but can't remember they talk about CI.It was the Aero Presentation 737-5/6/7/8 one. :)
February 18, 201214 yr Author It was the Aero Presentation 737-5/6/7/8 one. :)Ok, not sure exactly which one that is but will watch the SAS DVDs I have myself when time permits to see if they show anything about CI values I might have missed.
February 18, 201214 yr This one. :)http://aeropresentation.com/yep/The MD80 one is also worth to check out. :) Edited February 18, 201214 yr by F16_Driver
February 18, 201214 yr Author Ok, now I know which one it is and I have that one :( Where on this DVD do they talk about CI?
February 19, 201214 yr I fly on SAS 737's quite often 8as a passenger) and I always show my interest in the cockpit. I usually ask pilots procedure questions until the ground crew throws me out. One of the questions was what CI they use and the and all the NG's use a CI of 6. The pilots are dough allowed to use cost index up to 50 if it will make them land on time. If they are so delayed that not even that helps then they keep a CI of 6.Manfred Manfred G. Ships are cooler that you think.
March 13, 201214 yr Flew GOT to LHR a couple of weeks ago on a business trip. Chatted with the pilots a bit after as I had a 3hr connection time and asked them about the cost index they're using. The answer I got was consistent with the above (6). The pilot's on board said they'd been using 6 exclusively now for nearly three years. Sam Allen
March 13, 201214 yr Thanks a lot, that was not even near 45-50 just as I guessed! Having this info available are you by any chance the real SAS NG driver in here I was looking for :(?The higher numbers are for non-NG's I think. 10-30 is -as you stated- for NG'sBert Van Bulck
