March 2, 201214 yr http://forum.avsim.n...ost__p__2276543So it has to be a passenger jet of some sort! :(The only planes I can think of, that have EFB are the 787 and 747-8 Fernando B ( I know I misspelled Boeing, I did it on purpose to make it Unique )
March 3, 201214 yr Author The only planes I can think of, that have EFB are the 787 and 747-8Although, it can be retrofitted to other aircraft in real life. It's not a small corporate jet, cause I remember someone from pmdg saying that there isn't a big enough market for it. Plus, a lot of companies, like Gulfstream, don't cooperate/allow their aircraft to be realistically represented in flight sim.But yes, I do think that means we might be seeing a 787 or 747-8 cause a 757 or 767 or other Boeing aircraft containing an EFB are quite rare. Maybe it'll be the 747-400v2 with a proper 747-8 expansion too ~William Genovese~

March 3, 201214 yr You heard some airlines are replacing their 767 avionics? Which airlines and do you have a link?I think fed ex is one of the airliners are going to replace the avionics.i don't know why I am not allowed to post links form airliners.netbut the topic on airliners.net forumthe topic says:The release said Rockwell Collins will update the cockpit with 15'' LCDs derived from 787 technology saving weight and improving S.A. March 4, 201214 yr Cool thanks, I'll have a look. The thing that I don't like about the upgrade is that they did not updated the FMS in the cockpit, they could have upgraded it to a 777 style FMS. Fernando B ( I know I misspelled Boeing, I did it on purpose to make it Unique )
March 4, 201214 yr Author Cool thanks, I'll have a look. There is talk on airliners.net, with references, that the 787 avionics retrofit is mainly for the 767 tanker program. Maybe fed-ex too, but I thought they might be getting the simpler retrofit that mainly changes the displays and not the rest of the avionics ~William Genovese~
March 5, 201214 yr Eh, I have this feeling the secret project #2 is a 717. It makes sense, most of the systems are already done since they can be brought over from the MD-11. All they have to do is do the 717 specific stuff and make a model/ sound set. It would be a pretty quick project, considering. If I remember correctly, the secret projects are things to just give developers something to do between other major projects. It wouldn't make sense for them to dive into making an A320 or something since they would have to do a ton more work and use more of their developing staff. A quick soundset, model and a few tweaks to some MD-11 gauges (that's a basic description, I know their is a lot more to do than that) and you're in business on a 717 project. Just my theory... March 5, 201214 yr How could FedEx replace the 767 avionics when we dont even have them???? The order was just placed recently....maybe the order calls for a different avionics package but not a replacement. Frank Johnson
March 5, 201214 yr As for previous comments regarding a Constellation, I own JustFlight's model, and think it is excellent. Is it as detailed as PMDG's aircraft? No, and if that's your standard, you may be a little disappointed, but then again, wouldn't that hold true with every non-PMDG aircraft? The engines give off a satisfying belch of smoke, there's a functioning flight engineer station, the exterior is beautiful, and the flight modeling was created in consultation with retired Connie pilots. As for the sounds, they seen pretty accurate - watching some videos on YouTube of the real Connie, the sound is definitely recognizable. If you have your heart set on one, I'd definitely give it a go - it's not a PMDG, but it's in the same class, IMO. March 5, 201214 yr I believe that American Airlines is in the process of renovating their avionics in both their 57s and 67s with this upgrade. I know that ABX Air updated their 767-200s with this upgrade. I would absolutely love to see a PMDG quality 767-300ER as this is my all time favorite aircraft. http://www.innovativ...&L3=0&display=1http://www.abxair.co.../2006-08-25.cfm Edited March 5, 201214 yr by KORDATC Robert Schumacher My PC: EVGA GTX 1080 FTW, i7 6700k OC'd to 4.6, ASUS Rog Maximus VIII Hero Mobo, 16GB DDR4 3200 RAM, 2 Intel 750 Series SSDs, Creative Sound Blaster Z.
