February 29, 201214 yr +1I've made a few negative comments in the past I admit. But we've got something fresh and new, with actually pretty awesome graphics and dynamics and silky smooth performance. Am I going to abandon FSX and all my add ons for it? No of course not. But for now I'm seeing Flight as a bit of fun and something new, with potential, and look forward to seeing what happens with it. Meanwhile FSX is right where I left it.It's pretty much the opposite for me. I tried it, and what I see is a game that will keep the kiddies interested for 15 minutes, and for the hardcore simmers, there is nothing FSX can't do as well or better. Remember as far as performance is concerned, your flying around with no AI, and in a default level aircraft, Turn FSX down to that level and you get similar performance. Scenery is better than FSX default, but not as good as UTUSA. Move away from Hilo and autogen becomes very sparse. Example head south and there is very little. This is with display settings at max. I get a better representation in FSX and it's just as smooth. (With default aircraft, or other GA aircraft) So for right now I uninstalled it. Of course this is only my opinion, Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d
February 29, 201214 yr I (you) can't, not yet..... :Secret: ........we are being watched....look at all those peoples at the bottom of the page... I have to create a paranoid meter... You would be "da man"!!! :Bug:
February 29, 201214 yr How many people will be put off by the fact that, without any explanation whatsoever, if they don't complete the initial missions they are just thrown back to the beginning and can get no further. The only option given is to try again or exit - all others are greyed out. Gerry Howard

February 29, 201214 yr 99.9% of those people will realize that is called career mode and will spend the 15 minutes to get past those. Many games are like that, you need to complete something first before being able to move on.
February 29, 201214 yr I can't install Flight. I keep getting a code: 8007000D error in XP. I've re-downloaded it 3 times. This is really killing some of my excitement.
February 29, 201214 yr Spent about 30 minutes flying that little Icon up to the top of the mountain, about 14,000 ft (it climbs like a dog)... and found my first Aerocache there completely by accident... lol

I had the same error, downloaded the game a few times with no success.I managed to install the game by extracting all files from the downloaded *.cab and running from setup.exe Edited February 29, 201214 yr by Heaven | AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600+ Windsor 2.8GHz | Gigabyte M52S-S3P v1 | GForce 8600GT 512MB | 3 GB DDR2 @ 800Mhz | 320 GB HDD | DELL U2311H 23″ | WinXp sp3 x86 |
February 29, 201214 yr Looking at the overall Sim, the clouds are so incongruously pedestrian that I am gonna have to assume a clouds pack from MS or somebody else is on the way.Unfortunately, while the Cfg. shows that the carcass of FSX is hidden in there somewhere, the file types for the rest of it are not the same. Looks like no stealthy substitutions in the night with legacy FSX stuff. We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... To the rest of the Universe atomically. February 29, 201214 yr Has anyone managed to get TrackIR working? It is harder than I thought getting used to flying without it... --John near KPAE
February 29, 201214 yr TrackIR is not supported.Darn, thanks for confirming Jim, I had thought it was just the beta folks reporting it didn't work but that the final release would support it, oh well. --John near KPAE
