March 3, 201214 yr The PMDG J41 does that to my FSX setup too. Windows 10 (x64) - X-Plane 11 - M/B: Asus ROG Maximus IX Hero - CPU: i7 7700k (@5.0GHz) - RAM: 32Gb Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 @ 3200MHz - Video: GTX1080ti - Cooling: Custom water loop (EK 140 Revo D5 pump/res combo, EK EVO CPU block, EK XE360 Rad)
March 4, 201214 yr I had this same problem yesterday. I'm in the process of rebuilding my fsx.cfg from scratch so this is something that might be worth trying. If you copy your fsx.cfg (I have various different ones that I keep in a separate folder) and then delete the original then FSX will recreate it when you launch FSX. You can then progressively make changes (or run Bojote's automated tweaker) to find the right performance balance for your system. This morning when I launched FSX I noticed the main window briefly opened as shown above but then went back to the centre as normal. I had added two statements in my fsx.cfg..ForceWindowedVSync=1FORCEFULLSCREENVSYNC=1...so I commented these out and re-launched and the window opened normally. I thought I was on to something so I added the statements back in and re-tested but the window still opened normally. Strange. It seems that FSX will update fsx.cfg every time you exit FSX and it's difficult to determine if any changes have been made. I might start using Beyond Compare and something similar so get a better understanding. Remember that any changes in FSX to the display settings will reset to TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD=1024. Another thing to look out for is duplicate entries for the display device eg [DISPLAY.Device.ATI Radeon HD 5800 Series.0].Another statement that might be relevant is...Location=0,0,1920,1080,.DISPLAY1//Location=440,151,1480,929,.DISPLAY1I've tried both (the second one is what I got when I recreated fsx.cfg) but I can't see that it makes any difference.Based on my own experience, if you have done a lot of tweaking then I would advocate going back to base with your fsx.cfg. Don't forget to reinstate the PMDG tweaks in the NGX introduction.
