I get an error when trying to install SP1c for the 800-900

Guys who are getting this error - what is your exact chain of install up to this point? Open your aircraft.cfg files and tell me what the version number listed is. I'm confused with people showing 3116 as the build - SP1b was 3118 and I don't know how anyone would have had 3116.
i noticed when i installed sp1b that mine came up with 3116 not 3118 but as everything ran well didnt make any comment however with sp1c i get the warning" the setup has detected that version 1.00.3116 of pmdg 737 8900 is already installedthis setup is not compatible with this versionyou will have to uninstall the previous version before installing this version"

Yep same here : just uninstall, clean the folders and reinstall from RTM. Just takes a few min and gives you a clean state :)You need to apply the SP1c to the 8900 before installing the 6700.Just did a smooth take-off from CYYZ : I have to check again but unless someone did update my computer during the night I'd say the performance improvement is pretty impressive on my rig !Thanks for the hard work guysDavid

Just wondering. If the installer is supposed to overwrite existing .. why does it even care what is currently there ... just overwrite it.

Remember there was a problem with SP1b that shipped with 3116 version that should have been 3118. I think that is the stem of the problem.Simple fix was to uninstall the 8900 and then reinstall the base (no service packs installed) and then apply SP1c.
You know this is true .. but that is not how they "want" their SP1c installer to work ..

Guys, we think we know what happened - check the update to the SP1c release thread.Vaughan, it doesn't literally install over anything (but is effectively true provided all the possible versions are accounted for) - we have to tell the patch installer which versions to look for - basically we thought we had all the publically released ones in there, but the 3116 version (which was only live for an hour or so at SP1b release before it was replaced by 3118) was inadvertently left out. The way our installer system works we have to tell it which versions to look for and what those versions contain so that it knows how to patch it. (it's binary differential/incremental patching)

Ok, I went back and read the modified post on this installer SP1c.I would rather wait for the "fix" file mentioned rather than uninstalling and getting a mess here.

Fix is confirmed and we're uploading it now - should be up in about 30 minutes, I'll let everyone know.

No, im not going to go to all of this trouble. Ive had 0 issues with SP1b and im not going to complete uninstall the NGX and risk possible other FSX faults just for SP1c. Ive got everthing dialed in, and Im not going to mess with it.Ok...nevermind.... I see the fix coming. Sorry, these things make me nervous!

Ryan, there's nothing wrong with uninstalling the NGX and reinstalling it, I've probably done it 500 times since we started developing it... That's voodoo thinking that something strange is going to happen - I know every single file involved.

Had more patience then.. ;)Thanks Ryan,Just have so much $$$$ invested in FSX with weather, scenery addons and tweaks, I hate messing with any kind of reinstalling. I'm sure it is voodoo thinking.Big%20Grin.gif
