March 6, 201214 yr Great story, thanks for sharing!Only experience I have so far is a touch and go in a real A320 simulator in a Tokyo science museum, where I could only handle the primary flight controls myself (great fun though). Herman Nienhuis

March 7, 201214 yr What are the controls like? It is with a lot of slack--lots of input required for small changes, or very tight and sensitive?
March 7, 201214 yr I found that the controls are extremely sensitive to inputs and was having a little difficulty keeping it on course and altitude during my sessions in the 700 series full motion sim. Yoke and rudders are essential to getting to really 'half-way simulate' what it's really like during the takeoff and especially during the landings. I would highly recommend getting a good yoke & rudder system. I currently have the PFC (Precision Flight Controls) for both yoke and rudders and have never looked back.Regards, jen noulet
March 7, 201214 yr Author Thanks for sharing this experience !I'll have my first sim hour in Paris in a view weeks, and I'm sure it will be ultimate !Good luck with that Emmanuel, you're going to have a great time....trust me.Rgds, Ryzen 9 9950X3D @ 5.6Ghz + Corsair Nautilus Water Cooler - 64Gb Corsair Vengeance DDR5 6000Mhz - ASUS RTX 5070Ti 16Gb - Samsung G9 Odyssey 49 inch 5120x1440 Monitor - ASUS Crosshair X870E - Win 11 Pro - MSFS 2020 - 3 x NVMe M.2 1Tb - Fractal North XL Case "Tertia Optio, Latebra Factum" Steve Summers

March 7, 201214 yr Author What are the controls like? It is with a lot of slack--lots of input required for small changes, or very tight and sensitive?Hi Preston, to answer your question it's remarkable how gentle touch is required in many manouevres. I was surprised by this, as I was expecting to apply considerable force when instead gentle manipulations were all that were required. I found that the rudder pedals required a little more "push" at times as opposed to the control column (ie yoke) which required more subtle application of forces. All of my preconceptions in terms of force required on controls were turned on their head when I actually got to fly the bird. Nonetheless, it was more difficult than I thought it would be.Rgds, Ryzen 9 9950X3D @ 5.6Ghz + Corsair Nautilus Water Cooler - 64Gb Corsair Vengeance DDR5 6000Mhz - ASUS RTX 5070Ti 16Gb - Samsung G9 Odyssey 49 inch 5120x1440 Monitor - ASUS Crosshair X870E - Win 11 Pro - MSFS 2020 - 3 x NVMe M.2 1Tb - Fractal North XL Case "Tertia Optio, Latebra Factum" Steve Summers
March 7, 201214 yr Author Nice one. Look forward to seeing some photos if you can.You bet Jeff, I'm waiting on some of the Full HD footage to get to me so I can pull some stills from it and post here.Rgds, Ryzen 9 9950X3D @ 5.6Ghz + Corsair Nautilus Water Cooler - 64Gb Corsair Vengeance DDR5 6000Mhz - ASUS RTX 5070Ti 16Gb - Samsung G9 Odyssey 49 inch 5120x1440 Monitor - ASUS Crosshair X870E - Win 11 Pro - MSFS 2020 - 3 x NVMe M.2 1Tb - Fractal North XL Case "Tertia Optio, Latebra Factum" Steve Summers
March 7, 201214 yr Author Thanks, guys. I'll tweak my controllers and try to get that "feeling" :)Give it a go Preston. I'm seriously considering purchasing a control column and rudder pedals now....just not sure if they can be tweaked to get the "feel" and response of the real-deal?Rgds, Ryzen 9 9950X3D @ 5.6Ghz + Corsair Nautilus Water Cooler - 64Gb Corsair Vengeance DDR5 6000Mhz - ASUS RTX 5070Ti 16Gb - Samsung G9 Odyssey 49 inch 5120x1440 Monitor - ASUS Crosshair X870E - Win 11 Pro - MSFS 2020 - 3 x NVMe M.2 1Tb - Fractal North XL Case "Tertia Optio, Latebra Factum" Steve Summers
March 10, 201214 yr Author You wouldn't think a level-d C-130J sim would be open to public either....it's all about who you know. :(Apologies for not responding sooner Chris......."who you know"....so true, so true!Rgds, Ryzen 9 9950X3D @ 5.6Ghz + Corsair Nautilus Water Cooler - 64Gb Corsair Vengeance DDR5 6000Mhz - ASUS RTX 5070Ti 16Gb - Samsung G9 Odyssey 49 inch 5120x1440 Monitor - ASUS Crosshair X870E - Win 11 Pro - MSFS 2020 - 3 x NVMe M.2 1Tb - Fractal North XL Case "Tertia Optio, Latebra Factum" Steve Summers
