Then they can declare their money well wasted!
Ben, you seem to forget that It's not for you to judge how others spend their money. I suppose you can, but your judgees may very well make a lot more money than you and the value of a dollar likely means something very different to them. It may not be the most efficient use of dollars, but nonetheless that doesn't always matter.

Yes. I live efficiently and attempt to save wherever I can. I do not waste were money doesn't need to be spent. You can build a rig with ONE CPU that will give you the same performance for half the price.
And you think you can run a full simulator and have all the same power necessary to run it smoothly at 1/2 the price, I definitely think not.

I can build a 1500 dollar PC that will run FSX like a dream.

I'm sure there are applications for this mainboard in FSX world. It won't bring anything in the FPS area when measured with Cessna on a simple airport, or even NGX at FSDT airport. But as Jim said, home cockpit builders with more than one computer, money to invest and eagerness to do it, will surely find a place for it.Ben, I think you should differentiate between your needs and other people's needs.I for one can only sa w00t to its looks!

Ben, your opinion is valid, guys are just trying to tell you that what's good for you may not be good enough for others, that's all.You know we all can get from point A to point B in a Toyota Corolla, right, so no need to spend more on another car BUT don't you think you'll like to do it in a Ferrari.....there is some peoples who can afford a Ferrari.

The posters could have told me that in plain English. There was no need for the irate posts directed at me. I am convinced that some of you think that I am a ignorant nuthead simply because I am on the younger side of the age group.

Be carefull, the mods will warn you cause you are personnaly attacking yourself..... :LMAO:Nobody here think that you are a ignorant nuthead, your opinion is as valid as ours old fart, the difference is that some of us may have a little more money to play with, something we (I) did not have when I was your age and in school.Ssome young kids will pimp their cars and spend thousands of dollars for that but won't give a rat behind about spending $1,000.00 on a computers.I't all depend on what you like to spend the money you have on.I understand your situation trust me, been there done that.

more negative ratings than I can overcome... :sorry:

One thing for sure about that motherboard, it isn't about need...
I think this is the post that should have ended this thread.

Thats just a PC, I am talking a home simulator with everything.

If there's a way for a sim setup to use 12 physical cores, then if you have the money and interest, why not? Of course the operative question is whether there actually is a way to use all those cores, and absent a VERY specialized custom-programmed setup the answer is a clear "NO." I was looking at the six-core i7-3960x, but concluded all that expensive processor power would be wasted for FSX in any way I might use it... A 2600k running at its limit is the better choice for FSX...four cores at 4.8 GHz beats six at 4.4 in this application--the fact that it also costs about a third as much is icing on the cake...

Peoples who will build a PC around this board will not do it just for FSX IF FSX is in their mind at all.
