Cannot enter the cockpit of Mustang P51D

Featured Replies

Hi, I wonder if anyone else have this problem. I have purchased Hawaii Adventure Pack and the Mustang P51D.All worked well, except that I cannot enter the cockpit with F9?? With F9 + backspace my viewpoint is about 5 mtrs before the plane? All the other buttons F11,F10,F8 and F7 works fine. All other planes works good as well.I have tried this on my laptop and desktop and both have problems with F9 related to the Mustang?I don't know how/if I can reïnstall this plane? I 'v puchased them with MS-points.I use W7-64 bit.Till so far, thanks for any help in advance,

I've made 2 printscreens to show what I see when I press button F9 + Backspace. When I circle with the mouse backwards is see the plane, kind of 'behind me'?

Thanks Andrey, for your quick reply. Mmmm.. if I knew that I would n't has purchased it. Otherwise I now have a nice 'birdview' with F9 ;-))

Welcome to the forums Simcees!Unfortunately the P51 Mustang is exterior only , there is no cockpit included for it.

I really think this is unnacceptable. It's not like it is a freebie...
I supposed they may be trying to see if an exterior only plane would go over with the "gamer" in this new ecosystem for MSFS.Obviously would be much less complex to develop. I personally would never purchase an aircraft that only had exterior view, I am hardcore enough that I pretty much only fly from within the cockpit. The only time I use external view is if I am just flying along with no need for a manuever of any sort at that moment, and want to look more at the scenery.Judging by the posts I have seen though, MS could have done a better job of making it apparent that it did not include a cockpit - I have seen several comment that they wished they had not purchased the P51 as they were not aware of this.

It must only be you and the original poster who did not know the mustang has no cockpit. This is from the Microsoft Flight! website: on the very page where you actually buy the mustang, I do not know how much clearer MS could have made the textThe North American P-51 Mustang is a historical fighter plane with strong performance characteristics, maneuverability, and sharp looks. Stripped of guns and some weight, this version represents a restored Mustang that might be found at airshows today. Adding this agile aircraft to your hangar will give you an additional option to complete hoops courses and master many other challenges and missions found in the game. This is an external-only aircraft model. No Cockpit view is included.

me neither. I am happy I have finally the RV and Maule which have something close to a realistic cockpit (after the Icon especially)! So no, get away with no-cockpit aircraft, please

Yes, but if you purchase from within the game itself - from the left hand screen where they put the advertisements, it takes you to the windows live screen to confirm download and purchase - now I have not purchased, but wonder if you see that same message above from there? I have seen a few post in other threads that they purchased and were very dissappointed to find out it did not have the cockpit, if this same message is displayed from buying within the game prior to purchasing, then I certainly would agree.

It says it in game also, and if memory serves me correctly even more blantantly shown also right at the top "External View Only" or something to that effect but it was labeled as no cockpit and plain as day.

Ok - I know the advertisement within the game does not state this, but if it does prior to actually completing the purchase from that advertisement, then I agree - folks shoud pay more attention to what they are buying. I never got that far with it as I had already read on the forums here it had no cockpit...

I did know it doesn't have a cockpit, that's why I didn't buy it. But I don't see how this Mustang is much different from amateur-made free aircrafts for Flight Simulator 95. If you can't experience the cockpit, you can't experience the aircraft, so I don't think anyone should be paying for this, at least at this price.

Having dealt with MS on Xbox Live for the last 10 years or so. They cover their butts, when your making a purchase on Windows for Live, Highlight the item in your purchase screen and when it turns orange click on it, it will tell your everything about the item and the Mustang does say in the final sentence NO COCKPIT IS INCLUDED.

It is clearly stated from within the game before you commit to buy

Ah then, I suspect the users I have seen that posted that they did not know, got to that screen and did not bother to read the details of the Mustang, hence did not see that last sentence.
