It's an amazing add-on. After the NGX it's my favourite ever airliner for FSX. Just in front of the Coolsky MD80 Pro (Glass). :( The single solitary downside of the Simcheck A300 is that the AP does not respond to any FS Key assignments, so you have to use the mouse to make (fiddly) changes of things like the HEADING, whereas I find it much easier to use assignments like '[' and ']' for heading bug......... aside from that, the Simcheck is a beauty!

Yup, it is kind of easy to forget when we have the likes of iFly and PMDG 737s, that the Wilco PIC 737 was one that raised the bar too. It's certainly true that PMDG's FS9 NG, and stuff even before that also raised the bar quite a bit where what is expected of developers is concerned, particularly on systems modeling, but they were certainly not alone in giving us better airliners for FS.If I recall correctly, the Wilco PIC 737 picked up an Avsim award back when it was first reviewed, and deservedly so, because it was pretty much the first one that really tried hard to model the 737's actual flight envelope behaviour with a high degree of success. You can see that in its acceleration and ground handling, which is still a cut above a lot of other FSX add-ons. If memory serves, I'm pretty sure the Wilco one was one of the first ones to have a really decent stab at actually modeling the overhead in the VC too.Of course one would not want such accolades and claims to fame to stifle progress; resting on past laurels is not what pushing the development envelope is about after all. Nevertheless, I do think the Wilco 737 is a decent add on, and that's a good thing too, because, straddled by several NG and Original offerings from other developers as it now is, it does still have the Classic 300/400/500 FSX 737 market all to itself, so it's just as well that 'the only game in town' happens to be a good one.Al

Did you try the KeyboardMapper in the A300B4 folder? It allows the AP commands and things like the HDG change to get assigned to key combos of your liking. I'm using it that way and, together with MCE, you get a pretty decent setup there.

Captain sim can do really nice vc's but I think I'll wait for the Milviz one then make my decision and it will probably be the milviz. Lee

Good attention to detail, and of course there's your advertising slogan right there - 'The Milviz 737-200, the only one with balls!'Al
Hi Al. I've looked at the MilViz website but cannot see anything related to your above quote. Can you point me towards it, please?

Sounds good, but will this work in the VC, or just in the 2D panel (which I don't use). If it works in the VC, I will give myself a big slap and then be very happy!! Cheers.(Sorry for the OT everyone else!)

AAAAHHHHHH! ...So sorry CoolIP, I am an idiot. I thought you meant a seperate application called "KeyboardMapper", but I have just discovered the app you are talking about in the A300B4 folder .........I have been enjoying this aircraft for years and never knew this keyboard mapping function existed! Thanks so much, and sorry for the confusion!Now....... I am VERY sorry for the O/T and will go and blush in the corner! :(

I own the PMDG 737, iFly 737 (which is seeing a feature pack soon that will raise the bar quite a lot for the detail crowd out there as well as adding the -ER versions and much more stuff), Wilco 737 EVO and the CS 737. They're all different aircraft and they all have their characteristics. I love flying them all and i spend about the same time with each one of them (well, maybe not, the iFly is the one that catches my time the most).I am absolutely nuts for the 737-200 and can only expect CS makes it a real nice and enjoyable A/C. Wilco's is a delight to fly, responsive and obedient and, to my astonishment, it really has a nice VNAV. The look of the panel was much improved from the previous version but could still look more realistic. The external model has high resolution texturing, which is good, but lacks a bit of detail... A bit of dust here and there, wearing and stuff like that, would surely take care of some of the "boring" look outside. It just looks too new/plastic. They took care of the engine animation with their latest patch, well done, but it COULD STILL be better :) Captain Sim's model is, well, stunning. I think that it's the best of all the 737s out there - Yes, i think it beats the 737NGX, it's just nicer to look at and maybe even the best model out there for FSX along with some crazy carenado ones.I have no queries regarding the iFly and PMDG versions of their 737s. iFly has less systems simulated but i'm not a "LOOK! Missing a screw there!!" freak so to me they're both perfect. It's really a question of "what it is globally" that makes me fly the iFly more than PMDG's.One last word for JF's 737: Unfortunately to me it looks like a 2006 sim. It's just not on par with any of the above. I don't care if their systems are good or not, i just can't fly a plane with a cockpit looking like that Straight%20Face.gifMy two (extended) cents Big%20Grin.gif

Own the older wilco, NGX and CS version. Bored with the old wilco, looks too primitive, haven't been tempted to buy their latest offering. Judging by the screenshots it doesn't reach the others to the knee even.CS 737 might be something in a while, but currently the FDE feels a bit strange. I regret having bought it, I seem to have learnt little from the DA Fokker 70/100 farce. Buy the product once it's complete is my advice. I flew the CS a few circuits but I'm not sold at all.I had the Ifly but returned it. It was very good, but PMDG knocked it out of the water. The NGX wins hands down for me. It looks factory fresh compared to the CS, but looking closely you'll find dirt and dust, just enough to make it believable. It also feels amazing to hand fly, and the systems... well it's PMDG.Looking very much forward to the Milviz. I returned the F15 a while ago, so have no idea what it's like post SP1. But judging from their earlier products (T38 and C310) I'm pretty damned sure their 737 will be amazing. It's a good time to be a 737 fan. :(

The ngx is almost perfect. I have only one complaint for certain, and that is the known issues with gust/turbulence behavior. I also think it is a bit unstable in pitch... I find it hard to trim for an airspeed and have that hold, maybe thats realistic for the 737, or maybe my lack or airmanship lol, i dunno.Other than that... Hard to imagine a better airplane.Regards, George

A fair statement, Nuno. Worth a read.Differing viewpoints a healthy debate maketh.

Couldn't find a decent enough photo of it, so forgive the crappy drawing I did from memory, but it should nevertheless explain how it works, where it is located, and more or less what it looks like, which is basically a triangular steel plate with three little spheres on it. From the position on my drawing, which is sort of what you'd see when looking over the pilot's shoulder, your viewpoint would be too high, so the balls aren't lined up, if you moved down, the red ball in the middle would start to line up with the two yellow ones:balls.jpgAl
