March 19, 201214 yr Hi all,Are there any other ways of flying FSX online, other than through VATSIM and IVAO?I used to fly VATSIM a lot many years ago, and it's still great, but I have less free time, and I was looking for something a little easier going, maybe without the ATC elements. In other words, I'd like to fly online, with other aircraft, but not necessarily have the formality of the ATC systems of VATSIM and IVAO.The X-Plane platform has a server just like this, so I was wondering if there was anything for FSX.....?I looked at what I thought was a new AVSIM way of flying online, but all the references just seem to be to TeamSpeak, so whilst I understand how people will talk using this system, there appears to be no info on how we actually get online in the same airspace in FSX together.http://forum.avsim.n...eamspeak-forum/.....I also haven't got a clue how to tap into the actual in-built Multiplayer stuff in FSX.Some people may be tempted to bash me down here, but what I'm really looking for is a friendly pointer towards something that may fit into my requirements above ? :( David. >> i7 2600k, 3.4Ghz, (3.8Ghz TurboBoost), 8GB DDR3 RAM, ATI HD 5770 1GB, Win 7 Home Premium 64bit. >> FSX, REX, GEX, UTX, Orbx FTX AU, NZ, US, FlyTampa, UK2000 Xtreme, PMDG, RealAir, MilViz, (some) Carenado, Flight 1, Simcheck "%20alt=

March 19, 201214 yr It can be easy. Also on VATSIM. Simply fly VFR. I do it all the time, because I don't want to work down some IFR flight plan.Just contact the controller for taxi/departure and before you enter any class B,C or D controlled airspace. --------------------------- Blue Skies, Gottfried www.blueskyscenery.com
March 19, 201214 yr Author Hey Stick,Go back up to the Teamspeak forum (up a few notches) where I answered your post and you will see that I made you an offer you can't refuse! :smile:Kind regards,Thanks Stephen. :( .... forgive my impatience on that thread. It can be easy. Also on VATSIM. Simply fly VFR. I do it all the time, because I don't want to work down some IFR flight plan.Just contact the controller for taxi/departure and before you enter any class B,C or D controlled airspace. That's a pretty good point actually. I just connected to VATSIM this afternoon after a 5 years hiatus and filed IFR and flew and I just felt it was hard work, for the amount of free time I have for FSX. I got wrong for squawking mode C instead of of standby a few times (my fault entirely, I ain't complaining!), and for a few 'mistakes' on my flight plan. I just wondered if there was an easier way... :( David. >> i7 2600k, 3.4Ghz, (3.8Ghz TurboBoost), 8GB DDR3 RAM, ATI HD 5770 1GB, Win 7 Home Premium 64bit. >> FSX, REX, GEX, UTX, Orbx FTX AU, NZ, US, FlyTampa, UK2000 Xtreme, PMDG, RealAir, MilViz, (some) Carenado, Flight 1, Simcheck "%20alt=

And the communications required is pretty easy and straightforward. If you fly from non-towered airports outside controlled airspace you don't even have to talk to anyone;in r/l you don't even have to have a radio in this case (not all too recommended, though). The advantage of flying on VATSIM is that you have some traffic. With each new network the traffic isfurther splitted. The less traffic the less excitement. --------------------------- Blue Skies, Gottfried www.blueskyscenery.com
March 19, 201214 yr The less traffic the less excitement. That is why it is such fun when a bunch of guys are flying together online and talking away to each other on Teamspeak. It takes it to a whole new level.

It takes it to a whole new level. That's right. But I wouldn't want to miss the ATC-realism on VATSIM. Only tagging along would be boring for me in no time. And all the other guys flying IFR. That kind of "athmosphere" is unbeatable. It sounds exacly like on LiveATC. The realism achieved by the controllers is really awesome.Sometimes they tend to get a little uncool when pilots don't comply but I guess that comeswith them trying to get it as real as possible. And you can do little wrong when flying VFR.Although I did manage to do wrong a thing or two :Whistle:Communicating on TeamSpeak would be great when flying outside controlled airspace.Kind of a private frequency. --------------------------- Blue Skies, Gottfried www.blueskyscenery.com

I will fly VATSIM again tonight, this time VFR for a more easy going night! :( David. >> i7 2600k, 3.4Ghz, (3.8Ghz TurboBoost), 8GB DDR3 RAM, ATI HD 5770 1GB, Win 7 Home Premium 64bit. >> FSX, REX, GEX, UTX, Orbx FTX AU, NZ, US, FlyTampa, UK2000 Xtreme, PMDG, RealAir, MilViz, (some) Carenado, Flight 1, Simcheck "%20alt=
