March 31, 201214 yr Hows it going Howard? I'm sitting on the bench with this too. If down the track it gets improved upon as mentioned with it being actually supported by a Dev team and if it offers enough to move over , well perhaps. With all these SBSL's appearing it could all add up to be quite costly and i will only do that if it offers alot more than what FSX does right now which i am quite happy with at the moment. There does not seem a considerable improvement as of yet. Kind Regards Simon.

March 31, 201214 yr It was only a matter of time before the add on companies came around to Prepar3d. I have pretty much everything working now apart from my CPFlight MCP737EL and EFB Flight Bag from Aivlasoft. The latter has an update on the way....Prepar3d works much better for me than FSX. I have a very smooth experience comapred with FSX. Version 2 is on the way and that should take things even futher. After the nightmare of the last 6 months I'm feeling pretty optimistic about the future of simming again...
March 31, 201214 yr Hi Simon,Seems you've missed this thread :(Hi Jean-Paul Yes, thanks. No sooner had i posted this i saw Howards post over on the Unofficial Orbx forum. It's a good move by Orbx and it's more tempting now but i wonder how all our other add-ons will function? Its ok for scenery in Aus now but as i tend to venture over to Europe often what about our other FSX sceneries working with P3d?Still, a step in the right direction for Orbx. Some dark grey clouds have parted after recent times :( . Kind Regards Simon.
March 31, 201214 yr Well, sceneries by Aerosoft shouldn't be a problem, seeing how Prepar3D 1.3 was announced. I have no idea of the policy for Ultimate Terrain. That leaves GEX and Flight1 in general but when I read this or why Marniftarr (EZCA, sold through Flight1) was forced into saying this a few months ago : The bad news. We can not support P3D in EZCA 1.17 officially. Please do not ask me why.I'm not too confident for the immediate future.Still, a step in the right direction for Orbx. Some dark grey clouds have parted after recent times :( .Yes, a very smart and welcome move. March 31, 201214 yr Author The below statement was posted on the P3D forum. I forgot to look at the date of the post, or what version was out at the time of the post ], but apparently most crash's are caused by this. I do not completely understand the technical aspects, and maybe someone can explain, or better yet, which products are some of us using that do not follow the rules to some degree. Most crash reports we get are caused by running FSX add-on content that hasn't been updated for Prepar3D. While we are backward compatabile via SimConnect, many addons use direct dll linkage, attach to windows by process name, intercept the directx backbuffer for post processing, or any number of other non-support methods of interaction which cause them to be highly unstable. Officially retired

But i don't want to be using both sims.So for now i will see how it all pans out and what develops.Cheers. Kind Regards Simon.
March 31, 201214 yr I don't want to lose any add-ons (such as EZdok)Marniftarr has provided a beta which, except for world cameras, works fine "unofficially" :( and which is, until Naturalpoint updates its drivers, the only way to get Track-Ir to work properly with Prepar3d. March 31, 201214 yr Author Marniftarr has provided a beta which, except for world cameras, works fine "unofficially" :( and which is, until Naturalpoint updates its drivers, the only way to get Track-Ir to work properly with Prepar3d.I still need to attempt this mod to get it working. I believe this beta version allows you to not have to rename the exe I think I read somewhere.Bob Officially retired

March 31, 201214 yr Blueshark747,Are these genuine questions or just a statement ? April 1, 201214 yr Marniftarr has provided a beta which, except for world cameras, works fine "unofficially" :( and which is, until Naturalpoint updates its drivers, the only way to get Track-Ir to work properly with Prepar3d.Thanks for the info Jean- PaulSeems like some software has a workaround and can sort of work. I can only think if P3D takes off (Pun intended) that all devs will realise that it would be a sensible business move to look at this platform too. It's still early days with P3D though and as i say i will keep an eye on future developments on this before i commit. Kind Regards Simon.
