I think this guy is TRYING to emulate the late Steve job's showmanship and not realizing what it was that REALLY made the audience cheer, the innovation! All Steve jobs had to do was walk on stage and he would get a larger applause than that guy screaming "GIVE IT UP FOR ME!!!!11!!!!1111!!!"

Clarification: no BIG ENOUGH market to interest MS.
5 years ago there was not big enough market for Iphones, Ipads, Ipods. It is always easy to balme markets not yourself for failures. Microsoft in the long term is going down, just like Nokia.
Cutting out the chaff to cut down a team to staff that are actually needed sounds like a sound biz decison.
Mr. Rockefeller, I wonder who you consider “chaff”? The brilliant software developers or the skipper.

People who are not as good at the job they are doing than others. Do you know the capapilites of the people they still have on board compared to the people they let go? do you know what positions they decided were pointless and so could also be cut? "Mr. Rockefeller" LMAO what is this OWS ;)

Microsoft Kills Off Two Products Bill Gates Thought Would Be Enhanced By The Internet"The Internet is a great phenomena. I don't see how the emergence of more information content on a network can be a bad thing for the personal computer industry. Will it cause less personal computers to sell? I think quite the opposite. Less copies of Flight Simulator or Encarta?"http://www.techdirt.com/articles/20090331/0050324314.shtmlBTW: Here are the first two comments from the article I referred too:1."First, let's just get this out of the way: Who the frick knew that Encarta was still around?! John Dvorak has written before that Microsoft does not know how to market, apparently he's right. Second, the reason Flight Simulator died had nothing to do with the doing better online. It's because FS is fricken boring to the vast majority of people. People buy it because they think it's a game, but it's not. Flight Simulator is a simulator. It allows you to simulate flight from take-off to landing. So when you set a course from Detroit to LA, you're flying the entire way in real time. Sitting there, in front of your computer, for hours. Yippie! (Btw, check outa FS parody I wrote for BBSpot!)I know people who love FS, but I'd rather have a root canal. It's quicker, less painless, and any costs are covered by my insurance."2."Microsoft Flight Simulator is one of the best, and I bet it will return. I've owned every version since 5, bought at full retail first day of release price, just waiting for the next to be released. Flight simulator didn't need the internet, it was great on its own, in my opinion."Amazing, eh??Oh, if that visionary guy what still behind all the MS Flightsim workings...(Instead of JH aka Junior Huncho)

Hmm, let's see - profile of "isaac": Joined today, already 21 posts and distinctively vitriolic against everyone not being a blind follower of JH, aka "The Messiah of Flightsim" and the direction Flight is currently taking. Is that really the last joker in your sleeve, MSGS? Hey, Mr. "I-know-something-you-don't", as you apparently have more insight than anybody else around here: How about a little enlightenment for us lowly lifeforms what's going on behind the scenes? NDA time is over.Or are you just out to continue JH's infamous smearing campaign against everyone and everything not fitting in his narrowminded concept of an arcade "flightsim game". Just a little bit too transparent, try harder next time. LMAO

LMAO and the fact flight needs serious work, but lets not point that out Talking%20Ear%20Off.gifEDITAhh Tomsky nice posts, since october 2005 :Thinking:This has to be said as it ties in quite nicely to what the internet is mainly used for - Where are your posts supporting MS in its flight sim endeavours or have you not really enjoyed any of them enough to post about them?

Was great fun for a week or so.Then that aercache of the day that MS put on the wrong highway...

Well I'm not going to argue with you beyond this post as I also don't do it with such self-righteous flip-floppers like you are in real life. But let's get some things straight:1) I've enjoyed almost every release of MSFS ever since MSFS 98. Some had issues, sometimes I couldn't afford the proper hardware right away, but it was fun. I've bought every release since FS 98 and paid the premium for the imported original English versions as English is THE aviation language and I even own multiple copies of some versions. Not enough support for MS(FS)?2) Right, I've been more or less an observer on these forums since 2005. I had been more active even here in the early 2000s but some server crash or something else wiped out my previous accout and I had to re-register. And as I'm not a member of the anglo-saxon cultural circle nor a native English speaker I was usually around in forums of my mother tongue. Nevertheless, the AVSIM forums have been a valuable source of information through all these years.3) If I can make something work on my own devices I'm usually not running around bragging "Hey look, I'm cool - blah, blah." My minor contribution to the flightsim community in my country actually was a guide how to do the electrical design of a jet throttle quadrant with thrust reversers and trim wheel in the early 2000s. Never got mine fully finished (due to 4) but it defintely sparked a surge in DIY TQ's at a time when there were no affordable ones commercially available.4) Between 2002 and today I've learned a whole new profession for making a living working on real aircraft avionics although I had absolutely no previous training or experience in this field other than my private ventures into flight simulator land and a general interest in electronics. I'm not particularly proud of that but it did consume much of my spare time through these years including moving places from one state to another several times. And as flightsim is not my #1 pastime it definitely suffered through this period. It's just that now as I wanted to pick up flightsim a little bit more seriously again that Flight was released and I was somewhat excited about it as FSX is definitely not without its shortcomings. However seeing the current development I'm much less than excited any longer. And as Flight has almost passed into oblivion in my home country and I also doubt that the Flight developers are actually analyzing foreign language forums I've decided to voice my concerns over here, closer to developers. Now you can go and call me names if you want to - but I won't give you the satisfaction of a reply.Thomas

Thomas, nice of you to show why you made your reply about my posts not sure why you couldn't of said that straight away instead of going the route you did.

 don't recall much flip-flopping on my views, I think flight needs some serious work but I don't think 1 month of being released and 1 more external view only plane are the end of the world.
